Does anyone have a Fury 55 and a Velocity? I'd love to see them side by side, from some different angles to compare visually. One more question, is there an optional gear ratio available, or that will be available for the Fury? Also, would someone be able to supply an actual dry weight before any components are installed, for an apples/apples number?Flying $uck$...All of the money out of my bank account!

Im tired of reading you knuckleheads saying the main shaft is 10mm. The trex 700 comes with a 10 mm shaft, not the fury 55. Its an 8mm hollow shaft! the Stratus comes with an 8mm solid shaft.
OK. You have my attention.
You have a Stratus that has an 8mm main shaft???
You have a Trex with a 10mm main shaft???
I think your measuring stick is off by 2mm...

The Fury 55 uses a 10mm mainshaft. So did the Fury Extreme, and the Tempest, and the Stratus. In fact, all X-Cell heli's except the 450 have used 10mm main shafts. The Fury 55 mainshaft is hardened, and hollow whereas the previous mainshafts were solid.

I was skeptical at first about the belt drive tail, but now that i fly the fury more and more im liking it better than the torque tube. Always a problem with the Stratus crown gear, the rear gears in the open tail box always has to be remeshed. I got lazy this weekend and didnt remesh the tail gears in the Stratus and the damn thing sripped in flight and had to be autoed down with no tail control. The belt on the Fury is like old reliable only an occasional tensioning.

I have 7 flights with mine and its outstanding. I agree that it would have to be the best 50-55 size helicopter available. I love the direct CCPM and the transmision/gear/cooling setup is very efficient. Mine has a OS 55 but would be interested to see one with a 50 hyper, would be brilliant too. Really enjoy flying it!

Flight Characteristics
The new Fury is bad-to-the-bone!! I'm not lucky enough to have my hands on one yet, but I've seen them test flying and it tracks like "on rails" in fast forward flight (I've watched Brian James take his thumbs off the sticks as it's blazing across) and yet it'll flip on itself if you ask it to! The parts support is there too, I've seen a bunch in the wherehouse.

I AM GLAD TO SEE MA BUILDING A LOW PARTS COUNT BIRD AS MOST OF THEIR HELIS HAVE A TON, THATS WHY I DONT OWN A VIBE 50 IT FLYS GREAT BUT WAY TO MANY PARTS, I FLEW MY FRIENDS FURY 55 AND IT REMINDS ME ALOT OF A FURY EXTREME WITH A LITTLE LESS CONTROL, I LOVE THE FURY 90, THERE IS SIMPLY NOTHING LIKE A 60 SIZE HELI WITH A 90 ENGINE,WHY MA WOULD BUILD SOMETHING SO CLOSE TO A 60 I WILL NEVER KNOW, I DO LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEW 90 IF IT HAS AS LOW PARTS COUNT AS THE 55, I TRUST IT WILL HAVE A DRIVE SHAFT AS BELTS ARE FOR PANTS.

New MA 90
Knowing the people @ MiniAir and their pilots' ability to push a heli to the limit, I know "Alpha Dog" will be the status.
