Need to try again with one of them mini jets, only have a week at home out of every 2 so just flying what I already have built, the funjet was good as I got it on Monday and was able to fly it almost the next day.

Got money to buy planes now but no time to build anymore.

Must say considering all the money spent on this hobby, Im looking forward to flying the funjet more than anything else for a while, although Im told the novelty of flying realy fast eventualy wears off and they do become boring.

I havent broke a 100mph but I would say yes. You actually get so tuned into your plane you dont see the background. Only the people watching can tell how fast you were moving. I am bad about picking props I always think I am moving slow and others with the same plane will tell me it aint slow. I actually fly my mini sabre wide open for the 4 min the battery last. I found it to be pretty slow not really impressed at all with its speed. But it does look good in the air.No Really I am the club President!!!

Nice you fly 3D high alpha or whatever pretty dang good looks like your comfort level is almost equal to you flying the foamies. Now how about some scale aerobatics? I love the old stuff knifedge down the runway Stall turns, cuban 8, 4 or more point rolls sorry I enjoy scale, helis or planes. Oh and a personal favor for me racin if you would please? let off the elevator on takeoff that tail wants to come up.
Thanks. OK, I'll try to get you some of those maneuvers on the next video. Though, I don't know about the knifeedge "on the deck" . I need to practice.

I finally joined a local RC flying club last week. Parts of Saturday and Sunday were spent breaking in the new field! The flying field is awesome...550' x 100' grass strip with flying taking place over corn/soybean fields. Below is a video of me flying my 3DHS 72" Extra 330SC at the new club.

For some reason I always presumed you already flew at a club, its good flying with other dudes around, I used to fly helis alone just to keep in practice, these days I only get to fly every so often so planes are better, couldent imagine flying by myself anymore, is more of a social thing than a sport these days.

Yes, I did fly with some guys, but not at an official AMA-sanctioned flying club site. We were flying at a partially developed industrial park. It's now nice to be part of a real club with its own flying site.

Bad ass racin my style of flying best maneuver out there is a greased landing and that was a perfect takeoff. Except you were missing 2 things after climbout pull vertical with the smoke on. How you like that grass makes takeoff/landings easier than your pavement.

As for sanctioned AMA field its not worth it IMO unless you have shows with non-RC spectators. AMA sanction means you give AMA another $60 for landowners insurance and broadcast your GPS coords to everyone in the world. Our new field is not sanctioned just a guy's old airstrip 100x1200. But all pilots carry AMA.

Thanks, tryan. I prefer grass way better than pavement. Takeoffs and landings are much more stable on grass. Takeoffs on pavement sometimes are an adventure, especially if you have a touchy rudder...and landings can sometimes be bouncy. Grass takes all of these situations out of play.

Regarding AMA, yes, I would have joined a non-AMA sanctioned club that had a large flying area with a grass landing strip, but these are very difficult to find in the Indy metro area. The club I joined is in a very rural area, the nearest home is 1/2 mile away, the grass strip is a very generous 550 ft. x 100 ft. and your aircraft is flying over very large crop fields. All of these things were very appealing to me, so I forked out the annual club membership fee of $50.00, which is cheap and a steal, IMO, considering the awesome flying field we have. 6 of my other flying buddies joined this club as well. It really is a very nice flying field .

My New Toy!
Just took delivery of my custom colour Pilot-RC 29% (50cc) Sbach 342 last week. Some may say it's too green... but I love it! I'm converting this model to electric running a Hacker A80-10 on 12s 5000 mAh packs, Jeti MasterSpin 125 OPTO ESC, Spektrum AR9110 receiver, and all Hitec HS-7954 SH 7.4V servos. Can't wait to get her in the air!

Here's a short video of my latest revival. This plane is about 8 years old, however, it has been in and out of storage the last 6 years. I recently started dusting her off from last summer when she flew twice and found that the engine had a bad cylinder head. The engine is an Enya VT-240 80º V-Twin swinging a 20x8 prop. I ordered parts direct from Enya in Japan and now she's nice and healthy!

I love that V-twin sound!

Thanks, fla heli boy, I absolutely love it! As far as the whole gas or electric thing... it was a tough decision! Guess there are pros and cons of each, but I had some spare batteries. Mind you, a DLE 55 would have still saved me a whole bunch of £££ Hope you get one in the air soon.

Spitfire1, you thinking of a Pilot-RC Sbach or a Peakmodel/ Redwing? Can't speak for the last two, but Pilot-RC do an awesome job

I have a distributer here in perth western australia that sells Goldwing 30cc size sbach but not in stock, since my 50 size su26 went in I may just grab a Goldwing 30cc size su26 or mx2 because he has some in stock, I only get 6 days off every 15 days so it makes it hard to find time to build, but I have no choice now as all my planes are destroyed apart from 1, and that will go in when I get home also because Im determined to hover no matter how many planes get destroyed in the process.

They keep flipping over backwards and going in nose first, I thought I had plenty of height to bail out this time, but the wings just started rocking on the way down and it would not pull out of the dive.

I can hover my PA addiction easily, but my aerobatic planes keep going in all the time, allways the same way too, they flip over backwards and dive into the ground, if I hover so high that I can bail out I cant realy see what the plane is doing, with my Addiction I can hover in front of me and see the ailerons moveing and what the plane is doing and react, its a double edged sword much the same as 3ding a heli, low and close is easier and things dont go wrong as often, but when they do theres no time to bail out.

Its also a double edged sword that I only get to fly one weekend every 3 weeks usually, so Im out of practice, but also want to make the most of the short amount of flying time I have and takeing a few chances to have as much fun as possible.
