Thanks, I am very happy with how they came out. Both were custom painted for me.

cant believe the way my OS.32 is eating plugs. I get literally one flight and either the center is loose or they just dont work. Its not too lean, and I'm not even really doing any hard flying

tried RC longs with a bar, shorts without a bar... never had an OS that ate plugs like this

Try just a plain old OS #8? Make sure your fuel is fresh. Make sure your carb is clean. Make sure you're not lean anywhere in the range, high or low. You could be OK when you check it but lean when you get into the higher range.

After that, I surely don't know.

Often glow plug eating is a mixture issue. I'm no expert at setting mixture after years of flying so I think of it first when people talk about eating glow plugs.

The next most common issue is contaminants in the fuel or contaminants in the engine. The latter is usually engine parts and is common during breakin. Make sure the carb is clean. You might want to R&R the engine. Clean and check the internals in case something is coming apart in there. Might be indicative of a larger problem like a ring or something coming apart.

it could also be the rear bearing going bad. flakes of metal be sucked up into the combustion chamber will mess up your glow plug. New rear bearing is like $7, cheaper than a couple of glow plugs.

EDIT: Also with the mixture check your idle mixture. You may have the main needle about right but a lean low end which will lean the engine out at normal cruising/hovering. Open that up a little.

Ah yes rear bearing could be coming apart and that is contaminating the engine.

Pretty likely, too as bearings are a common failure point.

+1

I found the ring broke, and I had to use a magnifying glass to see inside the plug. There was just enough of a little piece that it was shorting out the plug element.

it was time for the 37 anyway

I love my 30v2. I put a Toki .40 in it, this gave it a lot of power!
I did hear they quit making that motor but I'm not sure if that's true? I was able to do some more aggressive 3D tick tocks, inverted funnels etc... I am going to wait for a 50 size machine untill the TT X50 hits the market. I hope that is soon its getting hard to restrain myself from adding to the fleet.

Raptornoobie, no that is not normal. It is a v2 tank not a v1. Sorry about your ebay deal maybe you can return it.

The tank you need for the V1 frame is PV0034. It may be hard to find.

You can get cheap parts from helikraft for the v1. I order all mine from them. Most convenient option I've found.

I wish I still flew!!!
