I'm thinking of using a DS610 or DS620 for the throttle servo with the Align RCE-G600 Governor. Has anybody used this combination or is there some other recommendation?

Also, looking at the power rating for the O.S. 91HZ.. the rpm of 15000 is the peak power band. Using the governor manual the head speed would be 1747rpm (JR Trans X9303) at 14850 engine rpm. Is this the rpm all of you are using or is it more around the 2000 range?

I'm running about 1950. I think the majority is...and I haven't used the 610 or 620 for throttle but if I had to do it over again it would be the servo I'd use...either

the 610 or 620 will work fine. A little over-kill, though. Anything faster than .15 is reaaly a waste. The engine can't respond fast enough.

I use 3151's. Inexpensive, and reliable.

For head speed, 1850 - 1900 is good. Some like it faster, some like it slower...

Hell... I can fix that.
Uh oh..
Nope.
It's ***ked!!!

The only problem with the 3151 is they are not rated for 6V.. I do have some 9252's but they are not rated for 6V either..

Follow up.. if you go to the technical notes on the Futaba site it does rate the 3151 for 6V.. Odd they don't display it in the standard page.

Tower Hobby page on Futaba s3151 has them rated at 6v. I have them in several helis mostly with align govs and one with multi gov and they work fine.

I have a few 3151s I have used for throttle servos. They work great on 6 volts. I haven't tried them with the Align gov, but they work great with the Multigov and Revlocks. I have a few extras if you are interested.

BTW, 9252 works good for throttle too. That is what I currently run on all of my nitros. A few of them are running 6 volts reglated with no problems.

I'm thinking the 9252's should be okay with 6V regulated... if it fails.. full pitch until engine stalls.. then auto..

This is a bit old but i would like to do the same, would like to go for a 6 v Nimh pack i have 9252 servos all around,is it possible to find a regulator for continues 5.8 v,they should be safe at that, cause when my 4.8v battery pack is full charged its 6 volts anyway, would like to hear from others.

Just use a Lipo 2S 7.4 v and a variable reg and set it at 4.8,5.8 or what ever you like.
I use a Flightpower 8 amp reg set at 6v for all servos

Throttle servo for me = analog Hitec. They work reliably at higher voltage and are inexpensive. I've been flying Hitec HS525 on my 2 year old 700 with the G600 or TJ Pro gov. using LiFe (6.6-7V) pack unregulated.

Thanx that wont really help me,i need a Battery thats staying in the heli which is actually closed in,thats why i cant use a lipo taking things apart to remove a lipo to charge is not an option, going for a nimh 6v is a good option if i can get a regulator drop me down to 5.7 volts, doing that i dont have to run a step down for the TS 9254,getting a Regulator with nimh might be tricky.

LiFe is not LiPo. I've never taken my LiFe packs out to charge them.
