This was my 3rd flight with my Raptor 90 and im stumped with the way she flys and handles. The motor makes killer power and won't bog.Im running NO gov with throttle curves only and no throttle mixes. My normal throttle curve is 0-20-30-50-90 and idleup is 100-55-40-55-100 with -/+ 12 degrees of pitch.Shes still bubbly (running kinda rich) and im shocked at the power this motor is making. With this being my first 90 I went out on a limb getting the motor, pipe, electronics for it and wouldn't change a thing.I do need to turn the cyclics up a tad bit because she rolls/flips kinda slow, think its at 6 degrees right now but im not sure how high I can go with it .Thanks again to the guys that helped out with this and I freaking LOVE it .Heres the video,my flying isn't good like it was 2 months ago because its about 10 degrees out side,my back was killing,my fingers were frozen and im rusty from a 2 month break .
Should of adjusted the camcorder so the video was clearer .

OS 91 SX-H with Cline carb mod (OS 91 SZ carb) and Viperhead (.016 head shim)
Align 90 pipe
3 Align DS610's for cyclic
Align 2-1
Align Gov (not hooked up)
690 MAH
SAB tail blades
TT paddles
Raptor 90 3D gearing (8.27:1)
CNC bearing blocks
CNC TT head block
Spartan DS760/S9254
Once the motor is tuned good and the headspeed is right at 1950,its game on .

There's nothing like the feel of your first 90. They have a very commanding presence. You gotta love it

I hear that .Its kinda funny because everyone kept telling me I need a bigger heli,I flew a buddys T700 and a few other 90's but only did forward flight (scared because it wasen't mine) so I couldn't tell what the fuss was about. Now I have my own and did a little more than forward flight,im hooked big time. The power is sick, its smooth as heck in every move so far and she does what I tell it to do,just need to turn cyclic up.Anyone know what max cyclic is on the R90?

I sold my 90 last year and now I miss it Nothing replaces big helis and crazy power

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

Hey congrats and nice flying! The reason I am posting here is your style of flying is very much the same style as mine,,meaning very smooth and graceful. I like watchng this much more than the fly it like you Hate it style.
I will say that your way of flying would be great with a gasser.
I fly only gassers now because they have mass and torque to get the job done in a very gracefull manner.
I myself on 16 OZ of gas get a full 16 minutes of flying with 1/4 tank left in reserve for safety with my gasser. I have an on board generator so I dont charge anything all day but the TX which has 6 hours of run time. I fill and go till I'm exhausted.
With a gallon of fuel at less than 3 bucks a gallon I am not worried about the cost of 3 bucks+ for a 10 minute flight with a nitro!
My two cents but again congrats!

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Thanks for the comments guys and I hope that feeling doesn't go away haha, after landing I feel like a little kid with a big smile on his face looking at his first playboy LOL .

turboomni,
A gasser would be nice but crashing one cost alot of $$,the Rappy is pushing it but I can just keep up with crash cost.I fly a little better than this and I think I would put a gasser in with my flying because I get pretty low sometimes and im loving the power to weight of this heli big time .This is a video of my last good flight with my T600 and I can't wait to get back in the groove .Ive been flying for a little over 1 1/2 years now and im sure i'll get better and faster ( I hope) but I have a extra airframe im going to build for a scale project. If things go right i'll be getting the fuse in a week or so and finish it when taxes come in.Thats going to be my slow, smooth lazy flyer.I know you said your not into the "fly it like you Hate it style" but I wanna get on the deck and kill it with this heli haha ,im sure i'll have days I wanna just take it easy or mix it in.Sorry about the music,we play everything at our club ..

You would be amazed at how much different you would fly a gasser. You would learn even better collective skills. Gas the only way to go.

I too have just moved up to a 90 size machine. First three tanks through my Trex 700 were not to exciting because I really didn't want to push the engine. However, on the 4th tank I sorta kinda turned it loose. Unbelievable power and I'm only running 15% nitro.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

Mutt,
There too heavy, cost too much to repair and the power to weight isn't good for flying on the deck..

Heliguychris,
I have the Infinavation dampers in it now and a extra set of 3D dampers (PV0619) ,How often should I check them?On the 50 size I allways checked them every 2-3 days,im guessing I should do the same with the 90?Thanks for the advice .

Cowjock,
I hear ya,the power is crazy .As soon as I got home from my first flight I was setting up my idleup curves haha.I allready knew she had power in normal but nothing like this,no gov and I couldn't bog it .

fla heli boy,
Part of it.I cot a 903D frame from Dino and swapped everything because the 3D airframe has the cnc parts..

red_z06,
Yeah I got 2 of them about 2 days ago,so far so good with no lockups..

There 106mm,I could go a little bigger but they work fine.I did get a few more flights in today.A buddy Steve met me at the field I was flying at and got to see how awesome she does a unplanned auto .On my last flight I was about 100ft out and started to do a big loop, well I didn't check how much fuel was in the tank and as soon as I started to pull into the loop she died .I was far enough out my 90 looked like a 500 size heli but I stayed calm the whole time, well kinda haha.Pulled the cyclics back a little to slow the forward flight down and landed a soft/perfect auto .I can say it autos 100X better than the 50's,even with the 690mm MAH blades .Man I bet this thing will float with some 690mm Mavrikk G5 pro wide cores or 690mm Radix ,can't wait to try some of them .

Looks like you are having fun with your 90. I have 2 of them. A nitro and an elctric.
Make sure your pin in the tailcase stays in place. They tend to wiggle out. I have seen pictures were they cut through the tail case housing.
I thought I secured my pin on the E-Raptor but it was the ntro that I fixed. Flew the E-Raptor and when I went to pick it up the tail housing was hot. The pin was slidding out and rubbing on the housing.
You may already know all this.

Have fun..
