Hi,

Just asking Predator NX V2.0 owners to check their tail cases. I have a new kit that I am building and noticed after taking the two halves of the tail casing from the bag that the right hand casing has holes/cuts where the bearing is supposed to sit. Attached are a couple of pics to show where. This has been a very frustrating build with missing lower main mast thrust bearing, a missing shim, a miss-aligned pinion/clutch bell and now to find a damaged tail case from the bag. I feel like I got a late Friday production run. Paul at Century has been very supportive in all the issues but this is getting very frustrating. Please inspect your tail casing if you have this heli.

Thanks,

Tom

That is a bad case period.

One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

Looks like your kit missed QC control
However, I'm sure century will take care of it for you. Just need to send all the parts to them RMA and they will replace them. They are very good and accomodating with that. Just give them a call and go from there.

More like a start up on Sunday night shift. The best pieces on a molding operation are usually at the end of the run if it wasn't shut down because of a problem.

My experience with Century is they'll support you pretty well on this but that's a big miss on QA. Really highlights the fact that we need to critically inspect the components on our kits when building the heli - any manufacture.

That is very weak on century's part. I would send the whole kit back to them and request a refund or a discount on a new kit. What a waste of time.

I am also getting frustrated with their stuff! Seems it might be cheaper/less frustrating to go with a vario kit or even a minair one.

if im not blade bogging youll find me pack puffing

The whole kit? Wow if I applied that policy I would have returned a number of kits I had purchased over the years from MinAir, Bergen
Thunder Tiger and others, As I have had kits from a nymber of manufacturers that have had a defective part or two.

IMHO opinion, how the manufacturer handles the defective part issue is what seperates them. In this regard, I have found Century to be one of the best.

This customer has already contacted us in regards to this part and we will be sending him the replacement. We would usually not need a part like this back due to photos that he provided however we will be working with him to get this part back so that we can bring it in for inspection to further improve our QA process.

Hi,

As Imentioned in my original post Paul has been very professional in dealing with the heli issues and has responded incredibly fast in all cases. I recieved my t-bearings in two days and when I asked about the missing shim required for the t-bearing I got that in two days. I guess you can't really ask for more than that from any company. And I completely agree this can and does happen with all heli companies. This wasn't meant to bash Century at all, I just wanted to ask that others check their tail case if building the same heli. I would hate to see someones tail blow out, crash and never know why it happenend.

Happy flying guys!

Thanks,

Tom

Hey Tom, sorry about the problems with your Predy build. Mine built with out a single glitch. The mods I made were purely a personal thing. I am sure your kit is the exception. Century seems willing and able to make it right. Be patient and persevere and the end result is a great flying heli!!

Hey Ron,

Which one is the pitbull?

Let me know when you tire of the Jet Copter, I'll take it off your hands.
