I sit here and look at it and think what a kick butt looking heli, then i try to hover it and I want to kick the thing across the yard.

I had this heli smooth as can be until I had to replace the receiver from glitches then after that it has done the typical fuel boiling no matter what I do. It shakes so bad I can hardly hover it safely. I have like 6 flights on this heli and have had it since October, and I have another one brand new in the box.

I can't get any support from Kasama, I guess I need all the upgrades he has made for it to make the thing work but who knows. So what to do? sell it and say to hell with Kasama or what?

I know what you mean fender, if the new
starter shafts hadn't showed up I would be
saving my money for something else. I will
be flying mine tomorrow and let you know how
it goes. I did get a viper like head for my
YS91SR from a guy here on runryder. I seems to
idle better. I don't know about power as I have
yet to really get the fbl srimok up. Was doing
the final setup on the VBar when the starter
shaft broke the last time.

Is this fun or what :)......

Fenderbeam, I understand your frustration, but can't see how your problems realy started.

Mine flies very well, except for tank boiling which I have written about before. I'm convinced my tank sits too tight - but I am not worried, I fly.

I have received all upgrades but not yet installed them. A colleague who flies one and had some ("medium" boiling in his tank with OS90 engine has now installed ONLY the engine hardmount. It flew yesterday and 0 (ZERO) tank boiling or other vibration. He will not change startershaft now, until it eventually breaks.

I plan to install my stuff within the next month.

I believe this is a very fine helicopter - and I also believe Kasama has done a pretty good upgrading job to help remedy some of the problems that have rissen - that no other manufacturer have ever done or would ever do.

I can tell you directly from Kasama what the improvements done and planned so far are:

SRIMOK 90N 2010 version are improved follow the list below:

1. KSM10-T09 Tail boom support Drive: Make more thickness on top.
2. KSM10-C01 Swash plate : Change material from 6061 to 7075 at Swash plate base.
3. KSM10-C01 Swash plate :Change Spherical bearing from IKO to ELGES.
4. KSM10-F17 Engine Damper support: Change to KSM10-F31 Adjustable engine mount.
5. KSM10-T18 Service cap tail gear box: Make bigger hexagon.
6. KSM20-TS04 Hexagon start coupling: Change to KSM20-TS10 Starter coupling (Hexagon joint).
7. KSM20-TS06 Starter shaft(OS): Change to KSM20-TS11 Starter shaft OS (Hexagon head).
8. KSM20-TS07 Starter shaft (YS): Change to KSM20-TS12 Starter shaft YS (Hexagon head).
9. KSM10-90H02 Main rotor grips (3mm): Change to KSM10-90H08 Main rotor grips set 4mm screw lock
10. KSM10-90H02 Arm grip (3mm):Change to KSM10-90H09 Arm grips blade 4mm screw lock
11. Throttle control rod 50mm (share with KSM20-C09):Change to KSM20-C10 Throttle control rod 60mm.

Good luck, I hope you solve your problem soon.

Henrik, do you think Mr. Kasama
is going to upgrade all the Srimoks or
the upgrades will be standard in the
newer Srimoks?

Gonk,

As per Mr. Kasama, all these "upgrades" are incorporated in V2010 kits.

Most of them (to me) don't seem necessary, but may be so to Kasama - I therefore don't think we will see more necessary and "free" upgrades for now.

I agreee. I think the starter shaft and
tail gear were necessary, but the other
mods just make a really nice heli nicer

As you know I got the upgraded start shaft, hex drive coupler, and engine mounts for free. Of course after several emails back and forth with me saying every time that I have a YS engine, they sent me an OS shaft... Not too funny. Now I have no replies to my emails, must just be my fault huh? Anywhoo, I am hoping my buddies at Readheli will save me with the long awaited parts in the near future. I have got to be patient!

THis is a 100% incorrect statement, and if your dealer is saying so he is not speaking the truth and holding you up with BS talk, period!

from the land of smiles
As someone who lives in Bangkok (were Mr Kasama is) I can tell you there are HUGE cultural differences when dealing with people. If you ever yell at someone you will probably never hear from them again. If you are not getting responses to emails or messages, probably because there is a problem that the person does not want to have to tell you about personally. The Thais also tend to have a VERY laid back sense of deadlines and schedules. I have experienced these issues firsthand and continue to experience almost daily here.
This is not directed to or about Mr Kasama, just the Thai cultural attitude in general. There are plenty of his Srimoks flying quite happily here in the hands of satisfied customers, both Thai and foreigners.

Beating the air into submission, because we can!

Would someone that can talk to Kasama locally be interested in contacting him for me? I can provide both kit numbers and would even be willing to pay for the parts at this point. I need all the upgrades, im almost a 100% sure its the mount issue causing my problems.

my Srimok is still NIB since it is a long term project and have other projects before that one is due.
I called readyheli about my parts since I purchased my Srimok back in November, and they also added me to there long list of awaiting Kasama part's custemer.
I honestly do'nt think readyheli will mess around with there clientell since we are there bread and butter and put the turkey on the table come thanksgivieing custemers.

Parts are in at Readyheli, you should get an email if you bought your kit from them.

I got some of the upgraded parts yesterday from Readyheli. However, I never received the upgraded tail gears. I originally purchased my kit from GrandRC who no longer carries Kasama helicopters. Has anyone else who purchased the first release Srimok90 from GrandRC received the upgraded tail gears? If so, ho did you get them? Thanks for the help!
