I use the same pitch in both idle 1 and 2 however I have my governor set to run a little bit higher head speed in idle 2

on odin 90

norm: +10 and -3 diagonal throttle curve going up.

idle 1 +-12 85% plus throttle v curve basically at boths ends.

idle3 +-14 95% plus throttle c curve again at both ends.

The main reason for the two ideal ups is to give you the option of a different throttle/pitch curve if you want it. If your running a nitro heli it makes good sense to have one set with a throttle curve set so that doesn't need the gov/rev limiter in case that component fails. It's easier to switch to another ideal up than have to go it a forced auto-rotation landing.

The advantages of having two flight conditions is to tailor it any way you want. If your going to keep it the same, why even bother. Personally, I kept everything the same all across the board on all conditions except in idle-2... I have very little expo for all out stick banging 3D. However, with more expo in idle-1.. I can accomplish much smoother circuits and or during high speed hurricanes because it provides me a more linear feal and avoid over correction jitters. If that makes any sense. Make the radio work for you. It makes life allot easier. Also keep in mind that my particular setup is more for the experienced pilot. I'm not certain where your skill level is at.. but that also, will determine how you will manage this feature.

Hope that helped

up to you
Jetfire has it right. it gives you more options (if you need them). I fly Trex700's for aerial photography and have idle up 1 (or is that ideal up) for slow or hover with the cam mount on, normal mode for without it and idle 2 for faster flight with it. No 3D with a cam!!
But on my Titan i just use Idle 1 for all aerobatic stuff.

Thanks Guys. I shall stick with one idle up for now until I feel need for one more setting. I currently can hover nose in or out, fly bird around with confidence, even fliping bird upside down then quickly back over as my heart races. I can fly inverted on sim but to scared to try it for real! Everybody on this site is awesome and I will continue using it to grow my knowledge of these money buckets we fly.
