the figers i said are only a rough idea and what norm happens is when a unit comes out over here the $ sign is norm changed to a £
so if its marked up at $475 when released in the uk it will be around £475 ish just quoted the $ as i was just saying to people in the states how much it will end up over here and just saying the coverted $ it would be eq to over there if that makes sence????

for £475 no one will touch it, they'll get a YS engine instead.. Ripmax will just shoot themselves in the foot.

Ripmax may be able to get away with a lot of things, but I don't think even they can afford to be this stupid as to do that.

the current exchange rate does it make it worth our while at all.

a YS-91SR3C will set you back about £300, so Ripmax will have to price this engine at around this price.

Dont order from the states as they dont like to put a low customs value on it as they can go to prison for it over there other wise if you pay the fees you will gain nothing .

Hk an China etc will do this for you at a drop of a hat , but be warned !! if the item goes missing and its only valued at $30 you may only get that compensation.

It is out in Japan.
FunFun sells it but I'm not sure if they make shipments outside Japan!

You know the release is close, because they have officially discontinued both pumped versions at Tower.

OS licensed the design from OMI. James O'Neal and Steve Helms did the R&D.
Ben... I can't wait to try the new carb. I have three HZs in use and find that a little is lost as they are rich at the start of a tank and leaner at the end. That's no surprise. The Cline regs have always been a good solution to this.

Just a note about the quote above. Jim Cline developed the Cline regulator decades ago by adapting Walbro parts. I spoke with Jim many times over the years and he would readily tell you how to adapt your carb to draw fuel. Jim mentioned to me that James and Steve were using his regs and using his recommended changes to the spray bar and passages. This was years before OMI started modifying modelers carbs.

This is not to say that James and Steve didn't do a lot of work hammering out the details of adapting Jim Cline's regulator for our heli use but I think it is worth giving credit to Jim who did 100% of the development work on the Cline Regulator and the greatest percentage of the work on the modification of RC carbs for the best implementation of his regs.

The goal is not to take away from Steve and James' work but instead to give credit for decades of work by Jim (who passed away a few months ago). In talking with him I found him a selfless and patient modeler that helped me many times over the years and with the release of OS's new engine, now seemed like to give him a little credit. http://www.billsroom.com/pcfs/

OS 91HZ-R Pics
Hi guys,
I thought you might enjoy seeing some pics of this engine and conversion kit. Both are due in at Great Planes at the end of April.

Do both engines have a press tap in the back or just the conversion kit?

I am sure that both have a pressure tap. That is how the regulated system works.

The engine comes with the pressure nipple installed in the backplate. Of course, it also comes with the check valve, glow plug and head shim.
