Works great but the gear noise is unreal, I thought it was the motor bearing squealing but after changing them it has to be this gear. The mesh and pinion fit look to be perfect.

Anybody else with this problem or found a solution

thanks Ross

If your mesh is too tight or too loose, sometimes it'll squeal.. Also, make sure it's not your motor making that sound..

You might want to look at putting a KDE pinion support on it..

I'm using FAD gear with 11T on Scorpion 560.

I initially had noise issue on old Castle firmware especially head speed is low (1500rpm or lower.)
You also may want to lower frequency and lower timing to see if it helps.

In my case, the noise went away on idle up.

Also, you don't have to set gear mesh as tight as .7MOD gears.

not sure of the pinion make but I did try the mesh both tight and looser and the noise was the same

the pinion does seem to mesh up perfectly though

I spun up the motor with no pinion installed and the noise was not there but there was no load on the motor either

the bearing in the motor were just replaced and oiled up as they should be

Does the pinion look polished, or rough looking?

Get some silicone or teflon grease and grease the maingear. It makes a BIG, BIG difference in gear noise. You also might want to try a Revco 11T pinion. Esprit Models carries them. Polish the pinion with a SS brush in a dremel tool prior to installation, as well.

finally, seems the kde pinion support made it smoother but I think the lube is what made the noise go away as the second flight was louder

needed more lube

thanks for all the positive input
