I ordered my first computer radio and been reading about how to set it up. I found a lot of people using negative numbers on their swash mix, ( Aileron +60 Elevator +60 and Pitch -90) how can this work? Won’t the pitch servo go in the opposite direction of the other servos when you give it throttle?

Each control is separate in its own menu. When in the swash menu it is the actual mix. Reversing is done here for the surface control and not the servo. Sometimes the pitch needs to be reversed for some configurations.

That's correct, in order for all three servos to move the swash plate up when you give it throttle, the pitch servo has to move the opposite direction relative to the others. Notice the orientation of the pitch and aileron servos mounted on the frame they're 180 deg. opposite of each other. Follow the movement of all three servos as you give it throttle, the elev and ail servos will be moving CW and the pitch servo CCW. Depending on the heli's servo positioning your travel direction can change.

Now I understand, but why can’t you just use servo reversing?

You need the program mixing in order to satisfy the ccpm configuration, notice the movements of all servos when you move the cyclic on the tx. those servos are moving in different directions and travel. That is computer controlled through your swash mix prog. Servo reversing is a function independent from the swash mix prog.

Swash mix changes the amount of movement and direction on all the servos simultaneously on any given function . So if you have a positive value and your collective pitch is reversed , you chage to a negative value and all three servos are reversed on the collective pitch function , it only reverses that function , it has no effect on the direction of the servos on the cyclic functions . If both servos on 'aileron' were reversed you could change to a negative value which reverses both servos on the 'aileron' function , but the collective and 'elevator' functions would remain unchanged .
If you need to reverse the direction of a single servo , you do that in the servo reverse menu .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .
