anyone know where I can find a video setup for the futaba 8fg radio on setting up the throttle jockey on my radio. No matter what I do or the shop that has been working with me and my heli. no answer can be found for why it keeps disengaging as soon as the throttle is punched up at all. it will work for a few seconds and as soon as the bird is up and switched to one of the idle up positions and throttle punched down it comes. the Gov cuts out. even tried a brand new one today also. Still no luck.

I had trouble too setting up the TJ on my radio.

How do you know it drops out when you hit the throttle up?

You need to get the RPM up, with the throttle curve, to the set point before it will engage the gov. So when you say it drop out when you hit the throttle up that does not make sense.

It will not bring the head RPM up to the set point when you flip the switch.

If you calibrated it right the gov will stay engaged above 25% stick (only after you have reached the set point RPM within your throttle curve). So in idle 1 don't let the throttle curve drop below 25%. My throttle curve is set 100%, 75%, 60%, 75%, 100% so it will not drop out.

Does your radio have a Governor menu?
Do you have a 2 position switch assigned to it?
Do you have 1 position set to 50%?
Do you have the other position set to something higher? Like 80 - 85%.

the throttle curve is set just as the directions show. it was set on there before and worked great. just now started having this problem. it is set to engage at 30% throttle. it engages but when i switched into the idle up positions 1 or 2 it will spoll up faster for a few seconds then drops back down. I think the guy that is helping me set it up is just trying to set the rpm or head speed to high and the TJ is doing its job like supposed to and rejecting it by backing down.
Yes my futaba 8fg has a gov menue and it does list the gov as channel 7
and throttle curve and the end points are set to specs for the TJ.
I will see what happens tomorrow when i try it again.

So what happens when you switch channel 7?

You need one way set to 50% and the other way to something like 80%

The 50% will disable the gov and the 80% is the RPM.
You can adjust it to the RPM you want.
But too high and the gov will never engage.

Your idle up switch is not the same switch as channel 7 is it?

yeah I know too high and the gov will not engage thats why it is set to engage at 30% ..
Right now it will engage andc then disengage just a few seconds later.

No you are not getting what I am telling you..

The 50% and 80% I'm talking about has nothing to do when the stick is at 25% or as you say 30%.

In normal mode the gov will disengage below 25% throttle stick. You can't change this as far as I know. That is why you need to make sure the throttle curve in idle up does not go below this.

The numbers I am talking about is assigned to the output of your channel 7 switch. Up set to 50% and down set to 80%.

I think you still don't have things set right in your radio.

You should watch the video setup for the 9CHP radio and try to relate that to your radio.

ok today we had Kurt Kreiger on the phone the owner of model avionics. the company that makes the throttle jockey. all ALL of the settings were correct and calibrated correct and still doesn't work. what the heck could it be. tried changing the reciever and still no luck.
Tomorrow going to try a NEW sensor and see if that helps. the sensor on it now does seem to work. But i just don't know what else it could even be. Any SUGGESTIONS

Just in case I am trying to find somewhere that sells multi-gov so I can pick one of them up in case. it will have a working gov on it today one way or another. this is just freaking crazy.
