Just looking around, and Im seeing some really amazing deals on these helicopters. I mean why not buy one? I have never had a Trex v2 or the PRO version, and the V2 was and still is a top notch model for sure.

Is it really worth saving 250 dollars going for the V2 verse 500 in debt to a updated model?

The pro flies like a different bird... I've owned both and the v2 never could fly as well as my pro

Align has replaced it with the sport and Pro. There are clones still out there but they are not Align Trex's.

I would hope the PRO flys better. But never ever ownign a trex, and really going against all my beliefs I have towards Align product. I just think the deals are way to good right now, like it or not.

What sparked my attention on this subject is, I was at the LHS and they had a SE version I think, brand new, with all the bells and whistles, and they wanted as much for that kit as the pro version. So I started looking to see the real prices, and vala, The Trex V2(used), and the SE models with motor/esc combo and somtime servos are practically free right now.

They don't make the v2 anymore is what he means... Their cheap cause they want to get rid of them... There are people that still love their v2s but the pro truely flies like a 500 heli... It's worth the extra money to have a bird that's stable

Align has a few different 450's on the market. The original 450 was replaced with the SE which was replaced by the SE V2. Last year they came out with a whole new 450 helo called a Pro. They also released an updated version of the SE V2 called the Sport. There is also a SE GF version. Look here;

http://grandrc.com/t_rex_450se_pro

If you are not confussed already the SE V2 was very popular and there are other companies that make a copy of it. It is not Align and not the quality of Align though they are cheaper and popular because they are cheaper.

Heck, I'm still flying v2 se. If you can get parts for it easily, it might be a good deal. I feel sorry for the lhs that has to keep up with parts that are current. There so many trexs out there, I think it will be a long time before v1/v2 specific parts are gone. I have a pro headed my way tonight, I'm dying fly them and compare.

Edit, meant V2......

It will be a long time before they run out of parts for the V2 right?

Many parts for the newer Aligns fit the V2 and there are a bazillion clone makers that have parts that fit. Parts will probably be available for the V2 longer than any other helo. The TT raptor is probably #2.

Just a FYI have you guys seen this thread [url=http://rc.runryder.com/t542046p1/?highlight=450+v3+conversion] ????

I flew my new acquired 450 pro today. A direct comparison is hard for me because my SE v2 is on 4s lipo vs the pro 3s. I have to say I do like the newer head much better. I think I am going to covert the SE v2 to a V3 sport head.

Anyway, just posting the link. Even if V2 parts disappear overnight, there's always the ability to convert to a V3 sport head.

I thought I'd get rid of the V2 after I got the pro. I think I'll be keeping it now as my windy day bore holes in the sky ship.
