I have a new kit coming next week.
Is there any upgrades you guys recommend before the build?

Thanks

Well, Mr Duck, that all depends on what parts your kit comes with. The good news is you may well be flying your upgraded heli before some of us who purchased last september.

of the top of my head... tail boom bridge and lightweight tail blades.

if its FBL, get the optional rear gyro mount.

if u r gonna use align servos, i wud suggest u consider using futaba small servo wheel instead of the metal ones included in the kit for futaba servos.

browse thru the srimok build thread by tmmugen.

and one other thing.. this is from a reliable source.. srimok doesnt like ys engine.

Thanks for the advice,
my maiden flight will be this weekend.
The build was amazing, the engineering and design of this heli is just mind blowing, I can relate to the work involved coming from an manufacturing engineering background.
I'll let you all know how the flight goes.

good luck and welcome to the club.

gentle reminder.. srimok is not like any other heli. if u dont build it perfectly, u will most likely get vibrations.

i nearly gave up on it but got it dialed in at the end. now it's the best flying heli in my fleet. super precise.

If you go with YS engine, YS91ST w/Viper head and
hatori SB16FH muffler and Kasama header. That is what
I would advise. Or, SR with dual plug head to smooth it
out.

alot of people have got this wrong!

The three little metal disks that go on the servos: They are indexed! Move all three until you get all the holes lined up, center servos, and keep moving the disks around the servo horn until you find the best alignment, and your control links are 90 deg. you might even flip them over. Takes some time but mine are dead on and I don't have any subtrim.

I watched a build video and the guy just bolted them on. He even made a coment that not all the holes seemed to line up!!

It dosen't say anything in the book about it!!

You will be the envy of the field.

Michael

I told my parents I wanted to be a pilot when I grew up, they said I can't do both!

its not about being indexed or not. its about them blue horns are very tight on align servos that it will eat the aluminum. u dont mind me asking, did u managed to get them in nicely and easily on ALIGN servos?

The blue horns were a nice tight fit, no problems getting them on align servos for me.

i have -+12 on the pitch and -+9 on the cyclic anymore and the swash will bind on the drive pins for the washout block

mine's dead
killed the srimok due to tail failure and it wont throttle hold.. had to choke the pipe to stop it chicken dancing..

ordered the LE later that night, just test flown it yesterday.. really hassle free and flies just as good if not better.

i havent really sat down and calculate the srimok repair cost but basically:

75% cyber FBL head is destroyed
boom, tt, guides, linkages etc..
my new edge 693 and 105 tail
skids
gy611 wire cut in half
bls251 burnt
one cyclic servo burnt
main shaft, spindle and two of the cyclic shafts
dented my hatori and bent the header

i wont be repairing it anytime soon.

i'm gonna wait for srimok 50 and see wat parts i can scavenge off the 90..

for now, i will just have to practice my routines on the 700LE for this year's 3dm and 3dx...

I picked up an LE also. Other than the
shouldered frame screws and engine starter
shaft mount, it's a nice looking bird Getting
ready to put her up this week. Did you go
FBL???? I put the Lynx stainless screw in the
frame and went with the G-Force bearing holder
for the starter shaft.

on a less serious note...
gonk.. dont hijack the thread.. this is the srimok new build post.. huhuhu

no i didnt go FBL.. will wait for align to come out with the fully programmable 3g units + programmers etc2..

will order the lynx screws soon.. already upgraded the engine starter mount and pitch lever to metal, slapped on a header tank, boom bridge and a nice pair of 710sb..she is 4 flights old as of now

sorry.. this mention of LE build is also somehow connected to srimok becoz the engine, gov, gyro, rx used to be on a srimok... heheheh

Git,
I'm sorry to hear that about the Srimok.
hope you get her fixed again one day.
My FBL 700 does fly good but nothing as precise as the Srimok.
