Do I have to modify the washer that goes in-between the fan and the engine? Reason is because the way the washer is now it will not allow the key to be installed. My washer does not have a notched cut our in it.

Will I have to take a file to it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i have the washer on the bottom, under the key way, i had to use two of them, to get the right clearance from the top of the nut hitting the clutch

I used the washer without a notch on the SR with no problem. Don't know about the ST version.

I made a small notch in the washer with a file, heated up the fan, installed very nice, and what can I say… no mess no worries. I don’t know why MA doesn’t go to this system.

Thank you for the help.

My understanding is you don't even need a washer, fan goes on and my clearance is great.

it's super smooth. I mean really nice. you won't go wrong but the fans are hard to come by now. I don't think that Maryland is making them any more. Someone chime in if I am wrong.

Well I have a little bad news, one of mine blew up last weekend, Maryland did stop making them and some fans blew up.

Not by design I think, its just as time goes by and the heli goes threw a couple crashes and the fan being so thin it just takes its tolls on the fan and they blew up.

No damage but fan shroud and that's it, was able hit throttle hold and auto it in.

And yes I agree they are like gold and hard to come by.

Maryland does not sell any more of them.

biglahou and jtjeep75,
I have 2 early Maryland Machine fans if you guys want them ($30 each). They have never been flown, you will need to mount the gov magnets (the holes are drilled).

Let me know,
Pip
