I know this is not heli related but it is a small insight as to how they manufacture parts so cheap. Can you imagine a USA factory allowing workers to load a 4 stage 600 ton stamping press without hearing protection !

I work in a metal stamping/welding facility so I found this interesting

This vid has been around a while but is good nevertheless. At this point hearing is probably the last thing these dudes are worried about.

And now that we consumers are all rushing to buy their product directly from China via Honk Kong and other Asian sources over the net, it seems that large companies are starting to do the something similar.

They are now successfully getting permission from governments to import cheap asian labour into North America to work on big projects. Simply so that they can save on the local labor costs involved with such projects. Yet the projects are not costing the buyers any less. They are simply putting more profit into the coffers of the companies that were awarded the contract for the project!!

Tit for tat I guess. If the North American consumer, who make a lot more money in his job here in NA, and who works in legislated safer conditions, wants to by-pass the American system and buy cheaper from China over the net, why should not companies be also allowed to bring in cheaper labour then.

In one case, the higher paid North American labour force (consumer) is by-passing the legitimate North American companies for a cost advantage, causing many of there companies to fail.

In the other example, the companies are by-passing American labor (consumers) also for a cost advantage, putting american consumers out of business (work).

It is always hard to have one's cake and eat it too.

Globalization means the Chinese workers will slowly improve their salaries and conditions over a few generations while those in the western world will find theirs to slowly erode. All while the world's wealth moves to those at the top.

No big secret really.

The Chinese guys working for my company are amazing. We give them the appropriate assembly and testing training for a new product and they're up to speed within a day. I am happy to say we pay them twice as much as others might pay and they seem happy, compliant and willing to keep moving forwards and learning. Feel very sorry for those working in sweat shops but it's only a matter of time. Then when they get better educated, the prices of currently elcheapo goods will begin to demand just prices.
BTW, in the original video, no protection I know of would ever be suitable

Nope ,but the point really is they will, and very hard for it,therin lies the wests dilemma. They are hungry for the western lifestyle that we already have,or had as the case might shortly be.The Chinese are laughing all the way to the bank.I bet they cant wait for us in the west to start another war somewhere do diminish our resources even further while they get on with moving to the number one spot and saving their ammo. The old saying only the strong survive should be dumped for, only the very wealthy will benefit the most
