So can anyone share info on how this works? Is there a sensor that plugs in somewhere on the V-bar amp? I have a an older black sensor version that does not have the satellite in-puts. Will my unit work with this?

There are two sensor ports on the standard vbar unit.Don't know that that's what it is for but, there it is.

Yes, it will work on the black-sensor-presatellite version.

Yep, it will work on that unit as well. In the software update coming out it will activate the 'gov' mode on the Vbar. Simply use your sensor from your Rev max or 7100r to plug into the AUX port on the Vbar. What it will do is adjust your pitch to maintain a set head speed for the motor. If you over pitch it will compensate by pulling some pitch out and that way it will maintain the headspeed. Can't wait to try it out...

At least that's my understanding. I'm sure Mr Mel can either verify it or let us know exactly how it works.

Quick...here comes my wife....hide that new Heli !!!!

I sure hope that it NOT the way that it works!!! I guarantee that will cause more crashes than anything. I will not use it for sure if that is the case. I have had several close calls with the ground as well as others I am sure. And if the heli would have lost some pitch instead of bogging then I would have had to rebuild a lot more helis than I already have.

No offense Oysifly, But I hope you are wrong!

I think the same as you do, however, this is how it was explained to me. Maybe Mr Mel can tell us for sure...???

I havent seen the latest versions so I cant tell for sure, but according to spec it does adjust pitch (probably will be on/off adjustable)

If you think logically about it, you will actually get MORE pitch response with maintained HS and limited pitch than if you bog the motor and have lots of pitch...

So chances of crashing due to totally bogging down the engine is bigger of a risk.

By the way, Revlock 40 has collective management too, so the invention isnt new.

That's great! That means that I could reduce the electronics down to just the vbar unit. Would there be anything left to run a SwitchGlo from, or would I need to wire in a Y cord?

Any idea when the new software/firmware will be out?

I know it's fun to speculate, but let's wait for the facts before any feature performance debates.

Existing processor capabilities + external motor rpm sensor + throttle servo = Governor.

Once the next version of software is out and the Vbar has a built in govenor.

I will be able to do away with my AR7100R receiver.

My Question is how do I hook up my 2 Cell Li-po battery to the V-Bar?

I currently have a deans connector.

Will I make some sort of 3 way connector that will have a male deans on one end and then
split into 3 regular servo connectors that I will plug into the Collective, Aileron and Elevator Ports of the V-Bar?

That "sounds" feasible. Three might be overkill. Maybe not. You could also hardwire your servo connectors to the lipo and build a jig for charging.

If you keep wire short, I would say 2 cables 22AWG is enough with acceptable voltage loss.

If you need longer cables, make sure the extension is thicker gauge.

When I try to update my V-bars using the "online update" function in the menu, it says, "Error, there are no new updates available". In the bottom corner, it says my V-bars are running 4.18.

How do I get the governor function?
