On this snow bound day I decided to catch up on some pics. This is of one of the Crickets I restored and flew at IRCHA

Very nice restoration, special little bird. My son and I might have seen you fly it at IRCHA, not sure, we did see quite a few Crickets out there. The Cricket brings back lots of fond memories since it was my very first RC project back in 1984. Never did learn to fly it, unfortunately I sold it so I could buy a trainer airplane. These days I help my son with his 3D heli flying.

I'm interested in doing a Cricket project, for nostalgia. Do you know anyone that might be willing to sell one? Are there any more New In the Box out there?

Lots of them out there. A few NIB, but rarer. The best place to find one is here, RR classifieds, and Ebay. It took me almost a year to find one I like and I ended up with 2 Crickets. You should be able to find one that is complete (very important) for $150-$200 range. Don't get discouraged, you'll find one. Some guys want $500 for the best examples, which is fair. But most guys are into it like restoring a 65 Mustang. Any questions you have post it on this thread and you'll have an answer in no time.

Get a complete one and don't worry about the canopy, flybar, main blades or main gear, or any other crash parts. There 3 guys that can replicate parts at a very reasonable price for what essentially are custom made parts for an obsolete heli. All 3 guys are trustworthy and their parts are actually better quality than NIB.

Forgot, if you search deep enough, there was a guy selling 2 Crickets in Mass. I think south of Boston. He was asking a resonable price, but I don't know if he ever sold them. He was selling back last Fall.
Good Luck.

I have a Cricket, if anyone's interested. It's unused, but assembled. It comes with a new, never run OS Max 28F-H engine. It does need a few replacements such as the flybar, canopy, and main blades, which I am willing to include. I plan to restore the machine myself and sell it, when I get a little time. The price, then of course, will be more being that it will be pretty and perfect. Anyhow, send me a PM if interested.

These things actally have a value. It was also my first heli but has no value to me. It has been out in the shead for a good 14 years. I don't remember how complete it is so I will have to go look.
