Hi all,

Recently I had a strong crash and my tail boom just died. I replaced it with a new one, but ever since, the stability of the heli got severely decreased and I got some TBE. I then replaced also the flybar, but that didn't help. One thing that improved the stability was tightening the ears of the anti-rotation collar - that had a visible effect.

However, the bird is still pretty unstable in flight, especially during turns and sudden cyclic commands - seems the response is lagging and generally seems more 'shaky'. Another issue is that after the replacement, during take off I have a pretty strong backward drift which I compensated with a max forward trim that's possible. The effect of that during flight is that the forward cyclic control response is veeeery low..

Any ideas on what the reason for the drifting and instability could be? I want to get the bird as stable as it was before. I read somewhere that the o-rings on the feathering spindle might have popped out, but I'm not sure how to check if that's the reason.

Thanks!

for 3 dollars is it worth to change the feathering shaft? i know it is bad practice to change parts if not needed.

rotor head linkeage sets -- if bound slightly will cause a bind.

funny thing - I just disassembled and reassembled the blades grip to check on the feathering shaft and its rings, and now the problem almost disappeared. the rings were intact, I practically didn't change anything, but it still helped - I reset the forward trimming on the remote and the heli was hovering like it should.

jeez, didn't expect those little birds to have so many parts and all of them when broken or loose will have such an impact on stability and control and aerodynamics of the machine. impressive..
