Hello everyone, This is my first align build and I was wondering if there was anything right off the bat that I should upgrade at the beginng of the build. I once saw on rr that guys were stripping eaisly the sholdured allen frame bolts. I also have seen some instances of main gears and guys adding the g-force clutch blocks. I also was wondering if the kasama thrust bearing blocks and bearings for the main shaft are worth it or is it just not needed. There use to be a guy on here that made a set of frame screws that usued a sholdered washer and regular allen set up for the frames , Like the quick uk ones anyway cant seem to find his adds.

When I built mine, I upgraded, to Align metal Engine bearing block, frame screw kit, and also used align metal tail control arm.

Metal bearing block as well, too many horror stories about stripped main gears. Also, I used the RC Booya canopy mount system, front and rear. I could imagine myself losing the little cotter pins at the field. And I added one more t/r control rod guide for a total of four. Takes a little more play out of the tail rotor, you can use the same ones sold for the 600n. That's it.

I built mine stock, and I was worried about the bolts because of what I had read, but decided what the hell I was using them regardless.
I had to remove the clutch bell because someone "me" put the magnets for the gov in wrong, and I had no problem removing screws at all. It has about 2 1/2 gallons so far and I love it.

Now I have never owned a 700, but I read a number of peeps have stripped main gears in aggressive flight. The pitch on the gears is 0.7m I believe. There are aftermarket gear sets that address this and Align has recently released an updated gear kit (no, its not free) that is 1.0m pitch.

Something to think about down the road, unless you plan on thrashing it right away. If its a recent kit, it may have the updated gears in it.

Required upgrades are:

QUK Link Set
RC Screwz Set
Shouldered M3 bolts (from either Liron or Lynx)

Everything else is OK as stock due to the quality of above. You can really do things up tight and say goodbye to any vibration that may cause issues with other components.

If only Align included these as standard - we'd only pay a few more pounds / dollars and their reputation would grow 10 fold

This post is from experience

3D?? No - just another input error!!!

Everything should be ok the way it is. But lots of other people say they are not. I managed to strip the hex out on the frame bolts on mine. So I will be replacing them. The align bolts are of poor quality. I also seen reports of the feathering shaft bolts breaking off in flight. I did not want that to happen to me, so I replaced them with high quality 12.9 grade bolts. I upgraded the clutch to a Quick UK clutch. I added the metal engine bearing block and added the metal tail control arm as well. Now saying this, I did all of this out of speculation and by reading what other people did on there helis as well. I only flew mine stock for the first couple of flights and had no problems. I think that if you really read into the problems that people have with there 700`s, you could end up scaring yourself to death and you wont have any faith in the machine at all. Personally, I think it is an awsome heli right out of the box and know people that have always flown them stock with no problems at all. Everyone always seems to have there own complaints and problems about a certain helicopter while other people dont. Yes, you will encounter problems down the road with it. Every heli has its own sets of problems. So its up to you, replace the parts you are not comfortable with. Good peice of mind about your heli is always a good thing to have when you are flying. You will love the 700!

T-REX 700N NEW 700LE BUILD, ANYTHING NEED REPLACING
thanks guys, So far I ordered the micrheli cnc gear,a ss screw kit from rc screwz. I am going to replace the frame bolts with the lynx heli ss screws but as of now cant find anyone that has them in stock. Also just wanted to let you guys know the company called lynx heli inovations makes some really nice stuff . They make a beautitful adjustble clutch block assy and engine mount. They also make a nice upgraded clutch and some really nice main mast blocks with thrust and radial bearings imo they look nicer than the Kasama, KDE and micro heli stuff. Anyway I think there new so all there products might not be available yet.
