I have been using Deans connectors for a number of years and they work fine, but now I am faced with bad arthritis in my fingers and I am not able to unplug them with my hands without someone to help me, or without using pliers to pull them apart. Years ago I used Anderson Powerpoles and they were bigger than Deans but easier to pull apart so Im thinking of converting my Deans to PPs. Are there any other brands out there as good, tight and reliable as Deans but that are easy to pull apart? I know there is a trade-off between a good tight connection and being able to pull them apart, but I really dont have a choice any more.

drill a small hole in each side of your deans plugs and use some snapring pliers. makes from buying and installing a bunch of expensive connectors.let me know if u get rid of your deans, i could always use some

Get the deans from hobbycity -- they have groves on them for pulling them apart -- you dont have to squeeze so hard :0)

These seem to help. I just got some this week. I have no affiliation with them just noticed their ad and tried them out.

Its a pretty good concept. The only issue that I see is you have to a nice clean soldering/wiring job (which you should anyway) for them to fit properly. I had a few packs that I had to Dremel a bit for clearance. Otherwise they work great.

I run a hot glue-melt bead all the way around each connector at
the wired side, the dry bead is raised up about 1/4 inch and when you simply grab the connector at this point to pull apart, works great!

I once saw a post where a guy drilled a small hole in the plug between the connectors. He use a set of pliars that had two small rods that fit into the holes to plug and unplug the deans. I cant find the post or I'd give you a link.
It probly wont work for scale helis where the deans are hard to get to but may work for pod and boom where you have more room. I havent tried this or seen it 1st hand.

You had me at Hover

you can always tie some string to the deans and then pull them apart that way

i find it humorous how people say deans are the best, and then proceed to tell you you have to modify them 12 different ways to make them easy to work with (grooves, vasoline on contacts, aftermarket sleeves, etc)

Just let them die...
