What seem to be the best metal gear servos to run? No 3-D yet but hope to soon.

define best?

best bang for the $ IMO is the Align. Great speed, torque, metal gears. Seem durable. A bit noisey, and not quite as precise as my BLS451's, but pretty darn close. Could also be placebo effect from knowing my BLS451's cost more too . But I do have 2 TREX700's and the BLS451 airframe is slightly smoother in that dept.

Best performance while spending a bit more are the Futaba BLS451's.

Best overall cost no object. I dunno. JR8917HV, Outrage BLS cyclics

I basically don't want to ever have to upgrade. As my skills progress I want equipment that is capable.

lol
I hear you, but trust me in that eventually there is going to be something newer, better, faster come along.

Certainly buy something that will prevent a "next" upgrade say in a year or so. But there is no future proofing in this hobby sadly.

I would go with the Align DS610's if I were you. The 620's are every so slightly faster, but less torque as well. On a 90 I would prefer the DS610's and I don't think people could tell the speed difference between the 2 servos.

The Aligns are more power hungry than my Futabas. About 350mah per flight vs about 150-200mah per flight on the Futabas. So keep that in mind. Either larger battery, less flights per battery, or more dillagence in making sure you don't run the battery down and crash due to that. Just something to keep in mind, it's not a big issue, just something to keep aware of.
