I love my Quark and have flown it regularly for over a year. But, the one complaint I've always had is the motor is weak. Something with a little extra climb-out power would be very nice. Does anyone know of a motor upgrade that would work with the stock control module? Does anyone even know the specs of the stock motor, so I know what to look for?

As far as i know, No one has put a new motor in the Quark. What you can do is change the pitch of the blades so that you get more lift.

I have adjusted blade pitch many times and understand the Quark very well. The motor is undeniable weak and has always been so. It will not handle changes to blade weight or configuration very well. It doesn't respond well to any additional weight in general. It loses performance with the air currents generated by different fuselage shapes, even if they weigh less. It loses lift if the blades are exposed to too much moisture in the air. These are all symptoms of marginal power.

I'm aware that the foam blades will not tolerate a lot of power, but a motor that increases power by 10 - 20% would be a great improvement. But, I have no specs to tell me where to start and damaging the expensive control module is a risk I would prefer to avoid. So, information about motor output would be appreciated.

If you factor in more positive pitch, with a weak power plant(motor), the helicopter will bog even worse, and stress the esc to exceding temps.

Just my thoughts
