One way
You need any good starter with a one way start shaft, Like sullivan or KSJ etc.
Or you have other isues. did you locktight the set screw on the start shaft. If it has come loose a few times , it may have chewewd up your clutch shaft, and needs replaceing.

Mine span a couple of times and I had to grind a deeper flat on the shaft for the grub screw to grip into. If you have a standard 12v starter with rubber cup and wand you can just buy a oneway starter wand like I did.

You have got to get a one-way starter shaft.

I had the same problems till I bought one.

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

I had the same issues using the align super starter even with the one way start shaft. I used green loctite on the start adapter and grubscrew to lock it to the shaft. If you do this, use a shim washer under the start adapter so you don`t get loctite into the bearing.
To remove it again, take out the grubscrew and hit it with the starter to loosen it. Works for me and never came loose again.
