I have a CC 100 amp speed controller. I want to set the governor up. My question is does the governor come on as soon as i flip the idle up switch? And do i need to have the idle up set to 100 across? Never set one up before so any help would be great. Thanks
Brad

I decided to use mine in the 'SET RPM' mode so I can select the headspeed before I fly. You can select the gov rate in this mode aswell

I found that this setting holds my headspead +/= 70 rpm on the head in most circumstances.
You can set the first and second speeds to the same and have a different Idle 2 or have 3 different or all the same.

Which do you want 1 / 2 / 3 speeds.
What headspeed do you want
Do you want to use the Autorotation recovery ( YESSSSSSSS )

Do you know how many teth on your pinion and spur gead on the model, IF NOT please count them and record this.

Have you set the end points on the radio yet ?

please le let me know the answers to these and we will go from there

Talk soon

Gary

If i set it in RPM mode then is there anything else i need to do? Looking for the easy way to set this up.

Also. Yes i put in the # of poles on the motor and pinion and spur gear. I have found that at 70% i am running 2030 and i like that headspeed very much.

I have set the end points but they change almost everytime i get to the field. The top doesnt change just the bottom.

first off have you gone into throttle end point and set up your throttle atv's to calibrate the throttle stick.

if its a futaba system you also need to reverse the throttle channel in servo reverse.

after you've done this you can go into set rpm gov mode.

set up gear info, motor info.

enter your desired rpm's into the three boxes.

You'll need one flight mode with either 0 across for startup or 0 as your first throttle point so the esc can initialize.

then you'll set up each flight mode with a throttle curve straight across with corresponding values to select the appropriate rpm. 25% will select box 1, 75% will select rpm 2, 100% will select rpm 3.

if you use a startup mode with 0 across, flipping to a different flight mode will start the motor in soft start. if you set up a startup mode with just the first point as 0, all you need to do is raise the throttle and it will go into softstart.

Okay. Starting to understand. I have set up the ATV's for the throttle. I have Airtronics RDS 8000. I have Normal mode at 0 55 75 85 100.

Idle 1 is at 75 75 75 75 75
Idle 2 is at 80 80 80 80 80
TH is at 0 0 0 0 0
then you'll set up each flight mode with a throttle curve straight across with corresponding values to select the appropriate rpm. 25% will select box 1, 75% will select rpm 2, 100% will select rpm 3
I see the three boxes but they just ask for an RPM. Where do i select the %'s?

Do it this way.

In TH set up a throttle curve of 0 across the board.

In normal set up a throttle curve of 25 across the board. You can't use a linear curve like you have set up.

In I1 set up a throttle curve of 75 across the board.

In I2 set up a thottle curve of 100 across the board.

In rpm box 1 put in an rpm of whatever you want to run in normal

IN rpm box 2 put in an rpm of whatever you want to run in I1.

In rpm box 3 put in an rpm of whatever you want to run in I2.

Initialize the esc in TH.

When you switch out of TH to I1 or I2, or normal mode it will softstart to the rpms you inputed into either box 1, 2 or 3 on the rpm set screen.

This will work.
