I drilled out the Align wheels to the distance in the manual.
Your not having a power issue are you? The unit will put a demand on your system.
My gain is still at factory setting flys like my Skookum did pretty responsive.

Mine has the same 3+sec delay on the bench. I think this is normal for the align system.

When you changed the %s did you go though the setup again? Once you set the limits during setup you need to reset them again when you change the % by doing the setup over for the parameter you changed on the radio.

Go Fly

DWS6,
What blades are you using? Maybe a heavier blade could help?

You only need to redo DIR mode if you need to increase pitch past you initial setup point. I set mine up at 12 deg cyclic and backed the roll rate down and a little bit on the elevator. You do not need to redo the DIR mode to slow it down.

Blades are Mav G5 WC's. A friend flies his Logo v-bar with these and it flies great. They are heavier then the Aligns for sure.

Don't just make the changes and redo the DIR setup, you need to make the changes WHILE IN DIR mode. DIR mode bypass gyro so it doesn't skew your measurements.

that's how I did it. After the initial setup, i dont care what the measurements are. I just backed the swash mix down until it felt right. I did not redo DIR with the lower settings. It was only done once to set initial collective and cyclic pitch.

panzlflyer,

I am using a 3600mah Outrage Lipo pack through a Reactor X Reg. The order is Rx - 3G - Reactor then the servos. Power system should be more then adequate. Would you agree?

Dws6 there is no way to know without putting an inline meter of some sort, or measuring voltage while working the servos hard.
I doubt its the battery but I have seen more than a few times several thousand $s of big birds bite the dust because of a brown out when driven hard, and the 3g does drive them hard!.
I mentioned it because your weird movements in flight made me think of it.
With 3x 8717s you need 9amps or so.

I just read the manual on the Reactor, could it be an issue going thru the buss on the Reactor?, has happened with Powerbox style systems on planks in the past, do they have filters etc in there?

Well after reading a thread on another forum it has got me worried..seems the power to the cyclic is all carried by the aileron wiring which is way inadequate, maybe you shoud check it for poor connections.
There is no way Im flying 3 8717s on one puny 22g wire

With the Reactor it's only carrying the 5.2 volts back to the receiver for gyro and throttle via the aileron lead. The Reactor takes the battery feed through the reg and direct to the cyclic servos at the specified voltage you choose. It is a much safer way to run this, and any setup really.
