Wonder if Align will go with the 6s power system due to its obvious success in the 600e.

Nice heli!

6s would not be practical for a 90 class heli. It's marginally workable in a 50. Figure that you'll be pulling in excess of 4000watts routinely. I do that in my 10s vbar Logo 600 all day long. 6s * 3.7v = 22.2v. 4000watts/22.2volts = 180.2amps. No low voltage speed controler is going to handle that without smoking. The same setup on 12s: 4000w/44.4v = 90.1a. Much more manageable.

A 90E needs 10s minimum in my opinion.

That is not an Align product.

Right now the best 700 conversion is the Ray Nemovi kit with NEU 1915 Motor.

The "RN" Conversion keeps the 700 in stock form and allows you to convert it back to Nitro if needed in roughly 30 minutes.

On 12s, there is hardly a machine with comparable power.

Why would anyone want to go back to a slimey, noisy fuel burner after going E-power???

BTW, You should add that the bit about the RN conversion "is best", is in your opinion, Mike...

Truth be told the engineering of the Suzi Hans conversion is superior... IMO!!

The major advantage to Ray's conversion is that the original 700 stays intact.

For me, new frames and a host of other changes that use different parts is kind of pointless because your not keeping the original helicopter, your essentially building a new one.

With 8 (sorry 6) simple holes the Nemovi kit can be either electric or nitro and uses all original parts and makes everything much more simple.

Personally, I really like the electric but I love the nitro.

As for the Suzi Hans frames, if you like rebuilding an entire helicopter great!

But for the price of the Suzy Hans re-kit you can get the Nemovi conversion and a Neu motor.

I dissagree with keeping the original frame. If u are converting from Nitro to elec then u have to redesign the heli. Fan shroud and motor mounts act as frame supports and stiffeners. if u take that out u are changing the stress and load points on the frame, so its not gonna be the same. theres lot more to it than just 6 holes. if ti was that easy all helis would be the same.

What I hear you say that you've tested the stock align frames with the simple conversion kit and found the frames to be weak? All the testing and crashing we've done and yet the frames take the same amount damage as it would with nitro and yet there needs to be a whole new set of frames at a higher cost and the user having to go to a specialty store to get aftermarket frames.
I and many whom know a thing or two about helis can say that you can't cheat a good crash regardless of the design. What you can do is keep the cost as low as possible and make sure you can get parts readily from even your local hobby store.

Re-Designing a perfectly good machine is one thing but not what I would really call a converison.

For the average guy it's not very cost effective nor is it easy to tear a machine down and start from scratch not only building it but setting it back up.

I prefer a machine to be as close to stock as possible, this way parts compatibility or availability is never a question.
Fan shroud and motor mounts act as frame supports and stiffeners.
Correct, but with Ray's kit the plastic mount and second bearing block take the place of the missing shroud and provide rigidity exactly where it needs to be.
