Left lone snowy tracks into the flying field parking area today. Shoveled out a helipad on the runway and got 5 flights in on my 3 raptors. Was a beautiful day and no crashes to boot. :-)
Expecting 11- 19 inches of snow over the next 2 days. Think it will be a while before we fly again. D@mn groundhogs!:-)
Fly em when you can!

Punxsutawney Phil and his dang shadow can shove it

I haven't flown a wet fuel heli in two months Snow on the ground since 1st week of Dec. and only a few days have made it above freezing. my Raptor has a new engine in it (a TT-50H no less!) and is patiently waiting for me to take it out and start breaking it in. 5" forecasted for tonight

You guys are hard core flying in the snow. Haven't flown since last weekend. Here's some pictures that a nice passerby took and put on picasa. If you hadn't guessed it, I am flying the raptor with the TT 50. Not bad for a hand me down!

Edit pic link didn't work. Here they are. Photos taken by AlexW.

Beautiful day here and I was working. But that gives me $ to go flying with. It's supposed to rain all week end. At lest the Gaui 200 gives me some stick time inside! ( haven't fired up a nitro inside sense flying my Cricket in my co-op in college!)

There's snow flying for me.
Started snowing Friday am and still snowing. At least 28" on top of what was already there. Can't even drive in this stuff, much less fly. Oh well, I guess it's time to rebuild the Gaui to fly in the gym.......

28", we get two inches of sleet and snow the world comes to a screeching halt here. I can't imagine what that is like. Be safe.

Snow
Seeing that I can't even get out of the driveway I don't think I can do much to be unsafe Jay. LOL . Thanks for the concern. We'll be fine but sure is gonna take a while to melt. We had one snowfall like this about 5 yrs ago and the city had to haul away alot of the snow to an empty lot because there is just too much to scrape. It was a huge pile of snow that was nicknamed Mt. Slushmore by the local radio station. The last of it did not melt until mid July of the same year. I think it will take even longer this go arround. It's up to ya'll to get some good flying in for us now! Take care, DC

Flew my trusty R50SE today, had to break-in a new Hyper as the last one decided to get its ring to get tangled up with the inlet port... This made quite a mess of the old engine!

Anyway after a couple of tanks of gentle flying with a rich engine she's almost back to normal. We even has some decent weather for a change, blue skies and light winds, not bad for the UK in February.

As part of the engine re-fit I also upgraded the clutch stack to use the Titan SE components. It now includes the 3rd bearing, new pinion and clutch bell. Hopefully this will extend the life of the main pinion bearing, although it does make the engine clutch stack alignment much more critical.
