I went from the stock motor to a Medusa moter then I swapped my ESC to a Phoenix 80 and I just dont have the power I see other guys getting from 6s, what the heck! Do I need to get a Neu moter? I just cant see a Scorpian moter being any better than my Medusan inrunner. Anyone got a suggestion? Thanks

I felt bad because I had no shoes until I met a man that had no feet

I swapped the stock for a Scorpion and didn't see a bit of difference. Not sure about the Medussa. I would stick with the stock motor and get a bigger pinion.

*On a side note, why do you have an 80 amp ESC?

Life is tough, it's tougher if you're stupid

are you running governed? whats your pitch. If two motors are similar in kv, then swapping them will do nothing. The scorpion however can perform much better under hard loading than the stock motor. If your not seeing a perfromance increase, up your headspeed (via running higher headspeed governed or 100% flat throttle curve) and then start to bump up your pitch. the scorpion and some decent (even 20C lipos will make the trex 500 pretty wild if your pulling enough pitch. start with at least 11 degrees and work your way to 13 and see how it feels.

I've also changed to the Scorpion 1600 with 13t and it seems to be only slightly stronger. Attached are 2 flights for comparison. Stock Align and Scorpion 1600KV both 13T.

I also might move to a 14t pinion..

no im not governed and i am runnin 12 degrees of collective and yes the headspeed is crankin last time we checked it it was in the 3200-3400 range....I did no change to the heli or any setup in the transmitter....Just a direct motor swap with a differ pinion...Everyone here at my local field noticed the difference right away.

the batteries run much cooler with the scorpion than with the align 500l. that would indicate that it is a more effecient motor.

that was the main reason i went with the scorpion as opposed to the stock align. hopefully that alone will help with battery life.
