Here are my impressions so far. Here are the radios I have had in the past to compare it to. JR 9303 72mhz, then converted to 2.4, JR X9303 native 2.4, DX7, JR 10x, Futaba 9C, Futaba 9Z. Of all of the radios I have owned I like this one the most, and not just because it is what I have right now. What I like most is the availability of putting anything on any switch, more programming options, and the telemetry options. I also like that if an update comes along that I can do it right from home opposed from sending in my radio to the distributor. I like the touch screen as well. The only drawback of the radio that I am not too fond of is the wire out of the back, but they way they have done it, it is a non-factor and I do not worry about it. Another area I am not 100% happy with is the battery. If you run the radio with the backlight on all the time (you can turn it off, set a timer for it, etc) it chews up the battery pretty quick. However, I am going to upgrade the pack to a lipo, and the radio is already setup for it. I am not sure what the latency speed of the Aurora is, but to me in my experience with it so far, it’s faster than the other radios I have had. Another plus item for it IMO is you can adjust the ratchet, spring tension, etc without removing the back of the case. It took me less time to setup my new heli with the Aurora than my 9303 which I thought was a breeze to program. I have liked all of the radios I have had except the 9Z, but this one is my favorite. For what you spend on this radio you get a ton of options, you just cannot beat it for the price IMO. $429 with a 9ch rx plus a free 7ch rx is a steal for this radio, I hope Hitec does not bump up the price down the road. Hope this helps, I was on the fence between this radio and the new Airtronics 10, and glad I got this one. FYI I have never had any radio given to me, so I buy what I think suits my needs best.
