Hello all, I recently aquired a Raptor 90 SE with a YS motor. All is fine but while going over it I noticed that where the fuel tube attaches to the brass nipple on the tank at the upper one that runs to the carb, it is a VERY tight fit and basically it bends the tubing and crushes it (to the point of what I believe is crushed closed) due to the nipple hitting the backside of the motor/casing. I understand that this is the bigger size/version than the normal fuel tank but I like the expanded fuel capacity.

Has anyone else had this issue or have a suggestion to remedy the situation? I have not flown or even started it in this this condition as I am afraid I'll be in the air and lean out or starve the motor for fuel to the point it till shutoff.

Try using some of the thick walled fuel tubing. It is stiffer and should reduce kinking in the fuel line. it should be available at your local hobby store.

Turn the nipple towards the carb side so it's horizontal not vertical run fuel line out the side and to carb

Fly it ! Crash it ! Rebuild it ! Repeat as needed !! Everett

Well the nipple comes straight out of the tank and points diagonally towards the back of the motor, there's no way to turn it. Also, I do have the stiff fuel line on it, it really is a matter of it being right up against the case. So I had been wondering if anyone had a fix or different position for a tank or something.

Would it be inadvisable to cut the brass nipple down a notch or two and then maybe use a small ziptie to hold it to what's left on it?

I see, the stock fuel fitting that goes in the tank is plastic and is an L shape. Might try cutting it off if you think there will be enough left. Or order the stock fitting.
