Were there different versions of the Cricket motor mounts? I have two pairs, where one pair has two bores for the bolts to mount onto the main frame and a second pair that instead of two bores it has the ends hogged out to where it looks like an "I" beam.

Yes there were. Originally, the Cricket was supplied with the "two holers" Later, the "I beams" were supplied with the Hughes 300C to accomodate the larger engines required. I assume then, rather than having to manufacture two specific parts, GMP just went with the I beam style, which was universal. It seems that happened a lot with the Cricket.

Thanks Steve. The "I" beam mounts came with one of my Crickets in a basket that had the "Cobra" black plastic paddles, which is a later version, therefore the "I" beam type are correct? My other Cricket has wooden paddles, which then should use the "2 holers"?

Did the entire run of Crickets use the flat slotted screws on the skids and frames or did they change to socket heads at anytime?

The only ones I've ever seen were the slotted pan head screws.

That is what I thought. I'll keep it original and correct.

I got some of the I beam motor mounts with one of my Cricket buys, I thought they were someones way to put a different motor in mod, now I know they are real GMP parts.
