If (when) they bring out the 700, I hope the main gear count on Mod 1.0 goes up a bit.
Its very limiting on 12S motor choice at the moment without going down to very small pinions (10 or 11 tooth)
Also, this would potentially move the motor forward a small amount which would help with compensating for the C of G shift from a longer boom.

Similar to the other carbon frames? Not really, the mikado ones look much better.
You can't reinvent the wheel its just a frameset to replace the existing one.

Looks really proffesional IMHO.

Bring on Mod1.5 gears, kasama is releasing mod1.5 gears on there 90E

A herringbone mod 1 gear has the same strength as a similar sized mod 1.5 straight cut gear.

I'm a Mikado noob and I have been researching one thing and can't figure it out. What does the .5 .7 and 1.5 "mod" mean. I assume it has to do with the gear ratio. Thanks.

basically how wide a tooth is on the gear, so mod .5 the tooth is .5mm wide, mod 1 the tooth is 1mm wide.

Module is basically the diameter of the gear divide by the number of teeth on that given gear. This gives you the pitch of the gear which is the distance between to equivalent points on adjacent teeth.

So what are going to be the advantages of the new Mikado carbon fiber frames? I thought the plastic frames were lighter and more rigid than carbon fiber stacked frames? Or is it just a bling thing?

Thanks,

John

I personally think its to appeal to the plastic haters

Anyway. Im waiting for the 700. Hopefully they didnt try to reinvent the wheel with it. Perhaps is just a sized up 500/600 frame to accommodate 6s2p 5000mAh packs. I really like my 500, so I think ill skip the 600 and wait for a 700.

Thing I hate most about the 2 piece plastic frame is that you have to rebuild the whole heli whenever you need to replace one piece of the frame.

Omg, i was so close to getting my 500SE w. Vbar kit... I'll wait until it's the newest firmware though. And until the supplier has the carbon frame, no need building the heli twice in two weeks
