I just received my vision 50 comp yesterday. I was excited about it until I read all the posts on them. Should of read reviews first.
But since I already have it. What upgrades are necessary?
I know I need a bottom plate and frame stiffeners. Do they already make these? Anything else? I would like to build it "right" from the start. Does anyone have the part numbers I need. I'm kind of surprised they haven't put the necessary parts in the newer kits since they know there's a issue.
Thanks,
Bob

Hi There!

The main thing you will want is the upgraded new V2 Linkages that are availble.

Now, All depending on your flying, you may or may not need the frame brace kit, but if your into hard 3D then i would say the Frame Brace upgrade kit is a must to stop frame flexing.

When Building, Make sure that the Maingear Mesh is Tight to start off with, this is to help stop the gear from stripping in flight.

Apart from that take proper build pre-cautions and you should be fine.

i personally havent had any problems with my links, but definately the bottom plate. you can use a stock raptor 50 base plate until the elyq ones come in.

anything else youll run into already has a quick fix for it, so no worries there.

check the clutch gap. Mine was too big so I replaced the clutch liner with a thicker one. My kit came with the clutch liner loose, not glued in and came with a tool for installing the liner. Worked out well. A Raptor-90 liner should work though I used an ElyQ HD clutch liner. I don't like the HD liner I got, too stiff and breaks easy. I have a few packs of Raptor-90 liners now for the next time.

Also some guys have reported that the Raptor-50 Red head dampers work better. They are a bit softer than the Visions which are nearly like solid hard plastic.

I'm going to add a Raptor base plate to mine, other than that and the clutch liner it'll be stock.

Thanks...

I was just watching some of the build videos. It looks like it has some side stifferners already. So, I just need the bottom plate.

As far as the linkages. Are they breaking or just to much slop in the links and popping off?

I'll check the clutch liner. I still have some raptor 90 liners laying around.
Thanks!
This is all good information. Its nice to have people that already have experience with it.

wrong bottom plate, that one is included in the kit already and only lines up the rear skid mount bracket to be parrallel with the motor mount.

Well...I guess I will have a extra one.
I just order another one. That seems like a poor design if it doesn't go all the way across the bottom. I have to see when I start to build it.

You might need a front gyro mount deepending on what gyro you have and the black flybar stableizer links and thats all I have on mine and I love it to death.
