What Im trying to work out is If I mix my Aux channel to my elevator channel on my dx7 will my elevator trim and elevator subtrim still work on both elevators of an RC Lander f16 jet that uses 2 servos for each elevator.?

I only have one spare receiver in my little 3s f35, and my f16 lipo wont arrive for a week, so Im reluctant to put it into the f16 to try the mixing out, so at least i can fly the f35 for a few more days.

I know i can buy a servo reversing Y harness, but there not cheap and seem to be hard to get hold of any way.

The other thing is why could I not just put one of the servo horns on the other way round, the only prob I can see with that is it would not look as good?

Any help with the mixing apreciated, Il try post a pic of the servo setup in a few minutes, my main question is will the trim still work if I mix the ele channel with the aux channel.

Jason.

Thais is not an RC lander, but the servo setup looks the same only there further out so I could turn one of the horns around, just would prefer to mix mainly for asphetic reasons I guess.

For the record this is an RC Lander.

you should put this question in the JR section. I fly futaba but here goes anyway. yes you should be able to do the mix you describe. just make master ele and slave aux. the trim should follow but the sub-trims should remain separate hope this helps Tom

Thanx, much appreciated.

I have a Cessna that Ive done a similar thing with to get the flaps to work, but due to it being flaps mixed to the Aux channel obviously there is no trim, the only issue with that is that I only get halve the amount of servo throw on the Aux channel and only one flap position, due to the Aux switch position either makeing it one half of the travel or the other depending on which way the switch is set to if that makes any sense.

Im sure theres a way around this with a bit of tinkering, Im thinking maybe inhibiting the Aux switch in the sub main menu, but havent tried yet.

Its going to be a week before my 4s F16 lipo arrives so I dont want to take out my only remaining receiver from my f35, its frustrating not being able to finish the build, but I atleast have one fast jet to fly this week if I leave the AR7000 in the f35 for now.

If worst comes to worst Il have to fork out $35 for a servo reverser Y harness.

On reading the Dx7 manual it appears that I can mix the two elevators with no problem, and the trim of the master will also trim the slave mix.

The only thing I cant be sure of until I actually try it is if the trim will move both elevators in the same direction or if it will trim in opposite directions as is the case with ailerons.

If anyone has tried this mixing two elevator servos and knows how the trims behave I would like to hear from them, as it will save me a long drive to the other side of my city to the only place that has reversing Y harnesses in stock.

Oddly I thought it would be a common item for plankers, but chaseing one down has been hard, even a google search only got me a guy on a web forum asking pretty much the same question I am.
