I went and bought a blade 400. Wow, what a difference to fly compared to my CP Pro 2. I know that some of you more experienced guys will say that I should've bought a TREX, but I am happy with my purchase. It flies so smooth and can gain some good speed too. I still like my CP because they have different characteristics and work different skills. I just need to figure out how to program the DX6I radio for my CP now. It is currently giving me fits.

Congrats.

I've never flown small electrics.

Seems like it would be fun.

Thanks, TheWoodCrafter

good luck with that 400 the blade 400 3D was my first heli and wished I started with something different. that was the hardest heli to learn on. it is so twitchy. but when you get the hang of it and replace almost all of the stock eflite parts with better stuff like the gyro and the servos its not too bad at all then.

watchout for my out of control nitro bird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My words exactly. Now fly that bad boy as hard as you can, and do not be in a rush to step up to a bigger bird. Remember every time you go bigger, so does the cost as well.

And I know you have heard it before, but sim ,sim, sim. the sim has helped me alot with my basic flying. It has also heled me to step up to forward flight, even though it is still nerve wrecking. But it is also cool at the same time to watch my little Trex 450 fly far away and be able to bring it back to me in one piece.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

You obviously never flew the Blade CP Pro 2, eh? This 400 flies like a dream compared to the CP. My biggest problem when I went bigger from the MSR was being intimidated by it. The 400 has different characteristics, but is nice to fly. I am just having a interesting time learning how to program the CP into the DX6I remote. I had to pay $10 because I couldn't figure it out. Now that I have the basic inputs in, I will will run with it and learn to tune the CP. BTW, I learned the hard way when the motor was reversed while figuring it out. Scared the piss out of me!

A friend of mine has a 400 and it flies great! A little lighter feeling than my Trex 450 but very smooth.
Upgrade as you need parts and have a ball!

Only possible item that I could see as an upgrade right now is possilby a heading lock gyro. I don't have any real issues, but could be a little tighter.

Blade 400
When you smack it in and strip your servo gears may I suggest you upgrade with Hitec 65MGs. They are the best upgrade I did on my 400. They are so smooth and centre accurately. You will feel much more "connected" especially in the hover.

I flew it today and flew it pretty hard for my level. I even did some sharp turns and loved the sound of it grabbing the air. What a blast it was to fly today. I wish I could've said the same for my CP. I bind it to the DX6I radio and had issues today. My rudder was giving me fits in flight and ended up with a hard landing because of it. No idea why I am having so much problems. I am going to fix it and re-bind it to the old radio to see if it is a helicopter issue or a radio setup issue.
