Is this going to be lighter than a 700?
Or are you doing this because you had the heli on hand already?

Interesting project.
Will the head take the force of larger blades?

For the love of the hobby

am doin this cos most of the parts are here , the head with meatl grips should be ok with the bigger blades , there is many a 12S stretched rex 600 out there with big blades and they running 4 or more hp so my 3hp should be fine , hopefully

Hi ady,
Looks good and should be a blast.
What gear ratio are you going to use? standard??
Auto unit bearing maybe interesting, to see if it can handle the power and vibes together.

Tried it already...
A buddy of mine set up a trex 600 with a ys 91 and the stock gearing etc...

we never did the stretch thing...but with 600's it never loaded the disc enough to really take advantage of the extra power.

we had the ys as lean as it would go practically and it never even got warm....you definitely need to run the 91 on larger blades to make it work right..

it will be a good flying setup I'm sure though

Did you use the 700 engine mount and did you make any adjustments to frame and mount.

hello there , i used the rex 600 mounts and redrilled the engine case holes , no need to mod the frame , if you drill the engine case correctly , the engine fits a treat heres some pics from a while ago , my second one i think it was

What did it end up weighing?
Did it perform better than a 700?

Is the 600 gear ratio an issue for HS you want?

Cheers
