well, hopefully then will get all the issues resolved from the 50 that are being carried over to the 90 and have them fixed before actually releasing it and actually include the necessary parts for it rather then release them and have to pay extra, like the bottom plate and frame stiffners...

I think they need to make sure this one is right out the box. I like my 50, really enjoyed building it and can't wait to fly it, but when you start adding bits like the frame doublers and bottom plate, it starts to get a bit annoying.

If the frames are a bit weak, or the gear stripping might be caused by frame twist, then personally I'd like to see these bits included in the kit or discounted for those who bought the early kits. I also feel 30 quid for a CNC machined flat plate or carbon is a bit excessive ??.

I think the 50 was rushed out the factory (no painted canopies, no TT drive etc), in the big scheme of things, would it have made much difference to make sure everything was tested and ready ??.

Be interesting to see what the 90 looks like though.

Cheers,

Simon

simon,

your absolutely right!!! thats what i had just said, lol... yea, its cool that if you ordered the 50 at the special release price that you got the tt conversion for 1/2 price, but the problem with that is the release of the tt conversion kept getting pushed back and pushed back till as of now, there is no release date.

from a manufacturers standpoint, i would have to say that the customer service is plain terrible. i have personally sent numerous email and gotten but only one reply and even that didnt address what that email was about. the 50 is a good kit, but by the time you have to buy all the extra necessary parts to keep it comparable to other manufacturers, youd probably be better off getting something else.

Looks like we were typing and thinking the same thing.

Might be the best helicopter in the world, but when you get no support I guess people will buy elsewhere. Not a good plan when you have lots of new projects in the pipeline.

I've sent a couple of pm's to Craig (I think??) on here, and got a good response, but never dealt with the company directly. Surely he can't be the only voice for Ely-Q on here ??.

Oh, decided to swap my boom before the maiden just in case

Cheers,

Simon

lol

craig is lots of help with the issues, but not necessarily support for the company. elyq has an advertising account on here and can easily respond to the issues (like other manufacturers do), but seeing that their last post was a long time ago, one of two things is happening.

1 - they dont even keep up to date on here and follow the forums/issues/questions that customers of their products are dealing with. (which they really should, because without us buying the products, there wouldnt be an elyq to begin with)

2 - they are following the forums and just choosing not to address things directly and channel them through the field reps (craig being the only on here in the states that im aware of, besides danny)

one would think that a manufacturer would want to address everything, that would show the manufacturer is behind their own product 110% and want to make their customers happy.

your right, you could have the best product in the world, but honestly its really only as good as the support behind it from the manufacturer.

i was interested in getting the vision 90 when they came out, but i can honestly say now that has changed after dealing with all the problems/issues with the 50 competition. sure, its a great heli, but you have to be willing to spend the extra money and time to get it in a stable flying condition that would compare to other heli on the market.

Although you dont hear alot from ElyQ

I can say that they are working hard to resolve alot of the issues, and alot of issues that will not exist in the next release,

You have to take in mind that with a team of 14 pilots not all problems are going to be found, its only when its released to the masses that things start to be come evident,

Now i hear people are very egar to get the Torqe Tube (Hell i am too) but that guys at ElyQ and Team Pilots are very close to finishing the testing (There at the Final Stages) just give it a little more time, Because in the long run i gurentee you will be impressed by it, There trying to get every problem and niggle worked out, and to be honest i would happily wait a litte longer then pressure the guys at ElyQ to hurry up and release it without it being fully tested and problem free.

Now, it seems a bit interesting here, since the Vision 90 will come in two veriants, So i wonder what features the "NT" has over the Competition 90! Speculation anyone?

Regards
-Callum

oh yea, i can understand that team pilots and a handful of testers are not to find out all the bugs and that would happen with a world wide release, but its still the consumer who has to make up for the loss if something is wrong from a manufacturing standpoint. i had my carbon boom snap clean in half, its gonna cost me appx 220.00 in parts + shipping + time to get it back in the air. i think the carbon boom is a little too thin and upon inspection of the interior of the boom, i can see little bubbles/voids where there doesnt appear to be any resin (this is gonna cause a failure because those spots are not as strong as the carbon thats been saturated with resin).

im willing to wait for the upgrades, but elyq should still be the ones stepping to the front of the line and take responsibility for their products. if ely q as a company listed on their website or posted in the forums that they were having issues with the release of the tt conversion and wanted it to be right before doing so, i think everyone who has been waiting for it would be in the same boat to say that the ctomer service was great because they would have kept their customers in the loop. gotta keep in mind, its not the field reps/team pilots that are gonna keep them in business, its everyone else - the consumers.

if someone was looking at an elyq product and has seen all the minor issues that everyone has been dealing with over the past several months since the release and not see anything addresses from the company, they may think that there is nothing for customer service/support. just all goes to the earlier statement that a product, no matter how good already, is still only as good as the customer service that stands behind it...

I guess it won't be as lame as "NT = Next Technology or Nano Tech" Could be something to do with connections, and interactions.. or maybe heavily boosted.. That's taking the "N" as Nexus..

Anyway. Just some lazy day wild guesses.. But, having 14 test pilots or even 140 of them won't make any difference if they don't test it with consumer in mind, which are just regular pilots.. That again am guessing that these 14 pilots are a mixed of professional and experts, where all can be sure they will not have problem figuring how to remove the tail rotor hub, and the way they stick bang, they know how to bang the sticks.. The way some people (Like myself) stick bang.. is a different storey..

Actually, I am the support for the U.S. . Everything I know, you all will know. There are a few U.K. sources who get some info from the Importer, but as far as questions, I am your guy. I am Employeed by ElyQ for business purposes and forum support.

What I don't like to do is give anyone the wrong impression about up coming products, or expectations. I have been put in a couple peculiar positions by making promises in the past, So I refrain from publishing anything that is less than 100%.

I am the Voice for ElyQ in the U.S., along with the Distrubutors, and some very helpful members of this forum. So in the future, if you have questions or concerns, just shoot me a PM and I will be glad to fill you in.

Facts? When I get the facts, I will pass them on directly to the public, but once again I will not quote anything that is one penny short of a full buck.

Hope this helps.

Craig

Testing is something of a Black Art.

The testors whom work for ElyQ in Italy are a network of very highly skilled pilots. They are diverse in their flying styles, and really know how to push the helicopters through their paces.

If the Factory feels that the products are not ready for the market due to product failure or unforseen dangers within the production process, then those products will have to be redesigned and re tested until they are perfected. The liability and responsibility of a Model Helicopter Manufacture is very intense. There are many governing factors within the business world of Model Helicopters that many of us cannot conceive. So Perfection within design of integral systems is a must.

ElyQ has been in a struggle against time with many of its upgrades, and I know that this can become upsetting for a lot of you. But I can assure you that this company strives for perfection, and no matter what it takes, the final models will be nothing short of beautiful and more than adequate.

We want to give to the consumer what the consumer wants. But unfortunately perfection takes time. ElyQ is a manufacture with quality as its priority, and let that Image not be confused with mass production of anything less.

Hope this helps

craig,

dont get me wrong, your a great avenue for support 110% but like you said, youll pass along things once you know for certain and you probably have to wait and hear that directly from elyq.

Proto Types are being tested now. The machine looks awesome. I have not seen a canopy design yet, but the over all machine looks really cool. Looks a lot like a Large 50C. I will post some pics as soon as I am given permission.

Hope this helps
