Hi, got about 15 flights in on king 3,left back servo stops working.I change it with the one i had with bad gears to the one not working,do 4 flights and the right one doing the same, only working if you tap on it to go right aileron.both times the servo motor so i guess i can say there garbage.I ordered some hs 65hb's for a ,great price from central/hobbies which i have also in my t-rex.looks like i have to file the tabs in on the corners only to make them fit the king 3? Any feed back is appreciated.if it was only one i would of replaced it ,but two so quick i think i did the right thing.I also noticed the difference in free play in the esky to the 65's big difference for sure.

Yeah, that bottom mount on the K3 frame is likely going be a problem. I think Zaw tried few different servos and may be able to comment which ones worked.

BTW, in case you are still using the stock radio, the servo direction is reversed. There are two ways to fix it. Replace the radio with a programable one, or have a place like ServoCity reverse them before they send them to you.

thanks greg,I'm not using the stock radio anymore.I was thinking whats next the esky esc ,lol these servo should draw more power from the bec so maybe,I hope it lasts a little while anyways.I laid the top cover of the esky servo on the back side of the trex'es it looked pretty close to the same except the tab looked wider.

Sounds good. But whatever you do, don't trim the frame. They are known to crack in that area. I'd definetly go with an external bec. You can get switching 3a BECs for $12.

If I am not mistaken, I used HS65 in stock King 2 frame. I modded it a little bit as I remember and it was minor. Long ago was it.

Oh yeah and I used HS65's without BEC. ESC (CC25) was on a hot side, but worked. Locked couple times as I recall. Just autoed to the ground. Not big deal.

I am not Zaw, sorry, but BEC is good. If being put in the nose, it nicely balances tail heavy HBK. Oh and ESC is not hot anymore. And run it on 6v, less amps drawn.

King 2 and King 3 frames are different: Not really. Depends on manufacturer. Stock - yes. Not stock - no.

K2 and K3 stock frames are very different. In the rear servo area, the K2 has little tabs that screw into the servo then the tabs screw into the frame. On the K3, the servo tab fits into a slot. No screws. Nice and simple. But the tab must match the stock servos.

And these little tabs I modded. Was quite convinient design. So they changed these? Pretty unfortunate.

Sorry guyes. Maybe bad day.

Try Innolab 202MG. Replacement gears are cheaper and servo is digital. And price is right. (Hint: HobbyCity). I run 202's on Rave. So far, so good.

Thinking of putting the same on HBK. She deserves digitals.

202's at HobbyCity are $20 if you login. At least that's what they price me. They out of stock at the moment there.

But replacement gear is 1.5 cheaper then for 65's, but not at HobbyCity. Anyway, if everything will be all right, I will change servos for HBK onto Innolab. Not that 65's are bad. They serve me well.

PostOffice did not notify me of delivery and shipped it back.

But please be careful with 202's. If I recall correctly, Zaw tried them and was unhappy. Something with the POT there. I asked the question on main forum, but no replies. Maybe nobody uses them.
