That thread in the main forum seems a bit too serious. Persoanlly I think the video is just funny. I'm a PC and I still like those Apple adds.

But I digress. Here's the counter-add from that thread. Not as funny as the Futaba ad, but there's more painful truth in this one.
Ok. Let's do a Horizon Hobby vs. Great Planes commercial, shall we?

"Hi, I'm Great Planes, the authorized U.S. Futaba dealer. You have a problem? Fill out this form. Mail us your radio at your expense. Make sure to give us your credit card number so we can charge you a fee just to look at your radio. Make sure to include your receipt so we know you didn't buy the radio used. What's that? and

I sent one of Rx's in for an antenna repair and firmware upgrade about a year ago. They sent me a new in box replacement.

Well I sent the vid just because it was hilarious.

Now the Customer support thing I have heard horror stories about horizon also.

I have only had 2 interactions with Futaba 1 was I cut an antennae while doing my scale fuse they sent one out got it in 2 days at my cost unfortunately. And when I begged for stickers to cover a JR plane same thing 2 days at my door those were free.

You go online to futabaRC.com DL the repair request and you can check status on it at any time. So that rant you posted Greg from the topic is truly false.

Oh and I have emailed many questions to tech support and answered within 24hrs every time.

OK, well I guess the Futuba guys don't have a sense of humor. Regardless, I still think that Futaba video was darn funny, even it it was completely false

They are both decent companies to deal with. When I bought my lancair their was a stress crack in the fuselage behind the firewall. I sent out an email just asking if I should worry about the crack. Great Planes replied asking for my address, and told me to junk the old one. Then they promptly shipped me a brand new fuselage. Now that is customer service.

My dealings with Horizon have been just as good. When I bought my JR10SX second hand, I wanted to send it in just to get a clean bill of health on it. They went over it replaced the antenna base, and shipped it back all free of charge. All this on a second hand radio that was several years out of production. Above, and beyond in my book.
