5000 packs should get you some loooong flight times. You might find it a bit nose heavy with that big of a pack.but a little rearangeing of components should balance it back out.mine is getting 3.5 min on 3200 packs and balances pretty close, I think with up to a 4000 pack it would balance good .I have my eye on a couple of hyperion 4000 packs, my buddy has a pair of 2500 6s packs and with the capibility to charge at 5c he hardley has to wait.and they have really good power.Century heli rep. ^^^^ Very bad news if your FBL.
Center of gravity is Crucial with FBL!

Hhmmmm... Nose heavy with 6s 5000mah pack ...NOT SO SWIFT from Century.

With 550mm blade machine, 6s 5000mah packs is the perfect match for such a electric heli. Why on earth would they not design the swift to balance out with 5000mah packs?? If it has problems balancing with
6s 5 amp packs, forget HV with two 6s 3000mah on the nose, which is what I had in mind.

Align even thought to use a 5000mah packs on their 550, why didn't Century? 3 1/2 mins flight time with 3200's is a JOKE! Just getting warmed up then need to land....NO THANKS! Been there, done that! NO FUN!
Sounds like they designed it around their 4s 4000mah century packs.

Looks like I will have to go else where for my new HV electric heli.
Good thing its 2010, and lot of other electrics to choose from

Check you guys later,

Raven

Raven, check back in a few days. My NX is supposed to be here today. It might be as simple as a thrusted tail(heavier), and moving the tail servo back a little.
I am going to use a BLS251 which is also pretty heavy on the tail.

I know its apples and oranges but when I lift by the blade grips on the swift 16 with a 4000 6s on the front, it seems to balance perfectly...

After thinking about it I bet I know why mine is nose heavy,I have a hv 85 in it, witch is a very heavy esc and it is in the front under the battery, plus I have a mini tail servo, I bet a full size tail servo and relocating the esc would take care of it.Or useing an esc that isn't exreme overkill, ( I just happened to have it on hand)other wise I would have used a cheaper and lighter esc.
Something else a person could do is run a reciever pack and put it in the back under the receiver, you could probably run a 5500 lipo and balance it then.

A Bls 251 would definatley add some weight to the tail.Or slideing the servo back a little on the boom is another good idea.Century heli rep. To much power is never enough.

Hey Max, I got my NX. I wish it was a kit, not an ARF. A blade grip is cracked, and the ball links that go the the seesaw are so loose, they fall off. Kind of disappointing, I wanted to be flying this heli in a few days. These are ARF issues, and would not exist in a kit.

Give paul a call, he will get new parts right out to you.
Yes the HV 85 is very big,I use them in my 12s 600e size applications and I had a spare is why it whent in my 550.the Ice is alot smaller and lighter, and still more then the heli needs, plus it has a built in bec, with a hv 85 have to use a seperate bec, witch is more weight yet.

MAXHSHV, I hope you're not intending to rely on the ICE's internal BEC to power your model. As per Clint Aiken and several other Castle tech people, the ICE's internal BEC cannot support the kind of loads of 4 digital servos in a 30-size/550 model.

Instead, if you're going to use a Castle product, use their BEC Pro.

I installed mine on the top side of the composite plate that attached to the underside of the battery ramp. I'm also using a 2s2500 Outrage NRG RX pack to power the electronics.

Yes with my 3700 and 3850 I needed a couple squares of lead on the tray to balance out so a 5000 with standard tail servo should balance out.
I have the century speedo up front under the tray it does not have the weight of the castle 85 for sure.
Motor choice can change the CG a little too as it is in front of the nast on the battery side. The century 600+ is fairly light for the power output. Some of the heavier motors out there will add a little nose weight but it is close to the mast at least.

I was thinking the scorpion 4025 might weigh more the the century 600a.It is a pretty stout motor.
What is the rateing on the ice bec?
I have a buddy who uses them with no issue but no personal exsperience with them.
