I especially like the built in data logger.

Beginners should really like the self-leveling feature.

And I can up-convert my existing SK360 files so I can get flying very quickly.

I sure hope the price does not turn me to another brand.

I wonder how it'll stack up to the vbar. Either way, I know I'll be getting a 3 axis for my upcoming build. If this one's out before I need it, then I'll buy it over the vbar just to see.

Anybody know if there's an ETA on this? Hopefully before the spring rolls 'round.

If it can't hover, it ain't worth flying.

If you look at the specs, features and options for future upgrades it seems as the SK720 could be the new No. 1 RE pricing: If it works like it´s top-tier competitors (V-Bar, AC-3X, Gyrobot) it could even cost a coulple of $ more than the TotalG and still be worth every penny

Hi Ben-T-Spindle , do these units pose a wear threat to digital servos in a 30 pound scale helli?

After having read all the things the 720 can do , why can it only take 4 digital sevos on the head , and I assume a digital on he tail , the rest they say are analogue which I haven't used in years?

You can put digitals on the aux channels. It's just that the frame rate on those channels is about 50 hz like a normal receiver, rather than 160 or 333 etc.

Bruce would that not damage or shorten the life of the digital servo , or overheating?

Anytime you drive servos with gyros the servos are going to work harder and ware out faster. That’s why on all my helicopters or 550mm and larger I use only Brushless Motor Servos. Futaba claims that they last 5 times longer than standard servo. So far I have probably 300 flights of hard flying and no servo problems.

WIRLBRD: no, it only works the other way. Digitals are totally ok with analog-compatible frame rates.

I want to know the performance of the tail gyro, like a 401 or 760 ?
as I said in the other post they will sell the 720 with a higher price and they will drop it 1 year later like the SK360.
The best price would be $400 max. with the LCD display.

for the moment I would wait the Spartan system because I think it will comes with rpm regulator.

They've dropped the SK360? Seems to me one is a 3 axis and one is a 2 axis. afaik they're still selling and supporting the 360.

If they start with a real high price everyone will go Align and they will have never recover the lost market share. Looks to me that they have it backwards. They would get off to a lot better start and have many more customers if they started with a low introductory price to get as many units out as possible for others to see.

If it’s really $400 then they have already lost me as a customer until the price goes down. They really have to wise up and try to be more competitive.

Let's reword this:

"If Spartan's Quark starts with a real high price everyone will go eFlite's G110 and they will have never recover the lost market share..."

:-)

There's what the market will bear, and there's what it takes to produce unit X. The cost of the units does go down with volume (spreads out R&D etc), but only just so far. The floor is set by the SMM part cost and quality (the motion sensors), quality control, processors (8, 16, 32 bit?), quality control, warranty/tech support, and calibration - and investment in R&D time.

The physical parts to build theses systems are relatively cheap. The money is in the R&D and software writing. Assuming no upgrades have to be written, that cost id fixed and can be recouped by selling a large number of units or maximizing profit in a smaller number of sales......Ron
