Setup:
-Stock 60A Align ESC
-Turngy 2650mAh 6s 30C
-Scorpion 1600KV
-14T pinion
-Flat throttle curve

It's fairly cold in England, a few degrees above zero currently. On my third pack my ESC cuts out for about 3secs so I flip the heli upright and prepare to land...but the ESC kicks back in. So with complete disrespect for the model I then continue to fly and notice intermittently, delayed and/or jerky controls when the heli is under heavy load (tic tocs etc).

Is this a simple case of the ESC not being up for the task?

Were the packs warm before they went into the heli?

If not, you voltage could be sagging low enough that your LVC kicks in, and when the load decreases, returns power.

Lipo's in the cold can still deliver power, but will act like "old" cells, low voltage under load, shorter durations, etc. Try warming the packs before flight, and if you are already, perhaps insulate them a bit so they can hold their heat a bit better.

I fly when its roughly 0 C out and generally don't have trouble, but i have my castle ESC set for 3 v/cell cutoff, where i believe the align is set for 3.2 or 3.3. I also keep my packs at least room temperature until i fly.

Hope that helps.
