I have ordered two torque tube assembly's in the time i have had the velocity, and every time i remove them from the packet they are bent.

The only reason i can think of is they are not shipped inside a hard case. Rather, they are shipped in just a plastic cover so it is subject to damage during transport. I cannot talk to the supplier because they would just ship them as they are. Most company's will ship torque tubes in a hard case so it cannot be damaged or bent.

I may have to find another torque tube off another heli with the same diameter and try to make it work.

Has anyone else experienced this?

All tail rotor drive tubes are arrow shafts, with the most common being a 20xx. Disassemble the torque tube and take the bent tube to your archery shop and then get one with the same od and same wall thickness. Simply cut to length and drill the necessary holes.

An added benefit is usually a dozen shafts costs little more than one torque tube part costs from a heli manufacturer.

Just a word of warning.

If you straighten something that has bent then it looses its strength.

Better to replace.

I forgot to mention, read up on my arrow shaft posts on the Avant forum. The comments on the Aurora there apply to all models.

Arrow shafts are the best solution and a cheaper one at that. You can usually find discounted arrow shafts at your local sporting goods store that will work. Buy them up and your good for a while..Happy flying!

Hooray!!!

Ordered two more torque tubes wich arrived today. One was still just housed in a plastic bag but the other had a hard plastic protection case around the tube. And after checking both tubes, what do you know? The one housed in a hard case runs as true as you can get, and the other housed in just a bag is slightly bent.

Thanks for listening outrage.....

Seems maybe the new batches are being released with a protection tube around them...

Happy days....
