You will likely need a 6" extension for the elevator servo wire, the aileron and pitch servo will reach providing you locate your RX at the top of the radio tray. I used JR servos and I'm not certain of the lead length used on the 451's.

You will need at least a 6" extension for the elevator. 8" would be better.

MA (ok, now Heliproz/Maverick/whomever) makes great machines that are smooth and durable. MA has always been an A class machine. I am curious about crash costs and repairing. My Fury is an expensive and painful beast to repair. As for the canopy, eeegad is it ugly. The Fury and Stratus canopies are ok, but this one is disproportionate for the machine. Maybe the short gear is the issue, but to say it looks nice is like saying the Prius is a beautiful car. (not even on my drunkest day) I will say this, no mistaking that it is definitely the MA look though. Good job keeping the market branding guys!

The Fury 55 canopy is much bigger that other 50 size helis. I really came to appreacaiate it when flying it as it is very visable in the air especially when doing the big air stuff.

MA canopies have always caught my eye. The one I didn't like was the Razor but it did look better after a while.

Your right, MA is distinctive. My Fury has a professionally painted canopy and I love it. For some reason the -55 looks pregnant or something.

On a second note, I stand corrected on the Heliproz, Maverick comment. To be fair and accurate, while MA is indeed owned by the same parent they are still independent entities.
Thanks for the feedback Brian!

Question about Parts Quality
Hey All,

For all of you that have built the 55. What do think about the overall parts quality? A guy on here started a thread labeled "First impressions" and said basically that he was really unhappy with the parts quality. I have one on the way and am a little concerned!

Any comments, thanks in advance!

I provided my comments in the other thread. In short, I was very pleased with my kit and throught the quality of the machining was very good. If you go back to the beginning of this thread you can see some high quality pictures of the parts and judge for yourself (click on them to enlarge). The other thing to consider is where MA is at.....they are known to manufacture high quality machines along with being known to be higher cost. The new MA is trying to maintain a high level quality but offer it a competitive price. The new MA pricing on parts is very much inline with the competion and is what is needed for them to continue to sucessful.

The bottom line to me and pushing all of the above aside, this has quickly become my favorite heli to fly! I am not going to try to describe it as every one says the same thing....flys on rails, super agile, locked in, blah blah.

Hi:

How's everyone connecting the glow igniter in their Fury's? I have looked at many pictures I haven't seen one remote adapter.

Are you using a LONG igniter through the canopy front opening?

Thanks.

SwitchGlo and don't look back. Only way to go on a nitro heli. I would think that if you are using a standard glo plug igniter without an extension mounted somewhere, you would have to start it without the canopy mounted (but I could be wrong)

No switchGlow here.

I hope someone is using a remote adapter succesfully.

I have been using a simple glow extension on my Fury 55. It's the Mavrikk one with the alligator clip.
