No doubt. But it could be better and serve more people. Our current W.H.O. ranking is at 37 worldwide.
I don't care where people think our healthcare ranks among other countries. Like I said there is nothing wrong with heathcare in our country. It's the cost we are debating.

If it's a fear of being dropped then we need to remove the laws that were passed that allow the insurance companies to run the way they do. The only way I see that the current bill lowers costs is by the government taking it over and telling the physicians they can only get paid a certain amount for the "product" they sell. It's price regulation. IMHO it kills free enterprise. What they need to focus on is attacking the actual issues that cause healthcare to be so expensive. Physicians are going to charge a price that pays their bills and keeps them in their BMWs. Unfortunately not everything in this country is driven by charity. Most people are in it for the lifestyle it affords them.

How about bring up discussions about limiting how much a physician can sued for? This drives up Malpractice INSURANCE costs causing Doctors to charge more to cover it.

I can't go over every single idea I have. I don't have the time.

I just don't see have another government run healthcare system is going to fix things. You want to impress me? Fix Medicare, fix welfare. There is enough waste in those programs to more than pay for other needed programs.

CBO last October says it would reduce national health care spending by 1/2 of 1%. A savings but FAR from a magic bullet.

Then there's the constitutionality issue of limiting persons access to courts. Our constitution guarantees us a right to be heard by a jury of our peers. Our peers are the ones that set the damages in a case by case basis and not some one size fits all predetermined ruling.

Tort reform offers only caps on the amount of damages that can be collected, while there's no limits to the amount of pain and suffering that can be caused by negligence. Add stiff minimum jail sentences to go with those caps and you'd have something but as it stands tort reform only protects insurance companies and health providers from actually having to pay for their mistakes and provide for the persons affected by their mistakes.
Fix Medicare,
Its part of it. Current models of Mayo Clinic and Grand Junction CO do exactly that, reduce Medicare costs and improve efficiency. Its not part of the Republican plan.

Repo man's got all day and all night! Lets go get a drink!

Since when did I ever start discussing parties? Parties is what has gotten us in to this mess.

I want Washington to shut their holes and start doing there jobs. How bout treating them like college football players. No endorsements or "you're outta there". I also agree with having term limits for Congress.

I don't care who broke it. All I want to know is who is going to fix it. My opinion is our country is to big to try and shoe horn 100% of the people into one fix all solution.

We The People need to start taking pride in ourselves instead of asking a tired and failed government to do it for us. The more people we have relying on government the farther our country will go down the toilet.

Look to your left and look to your right. Do you see someone in need? Why not give them a hand?

The old saying goes, Give a man a meal and he will be fed for a day, Teach him how to cook and he will be fed for life.

I don't get it. Are you advocating working for what you earn?

That flies in the face of 50% of the population of this country.

Stupidity can be cured. Ignorance is for life!
