I also prefer the feel of the mccpm system,.
And a re-vamp of the original layout in X50 style would be welcomed.
The frames of the raptor, and the lack of TT option need to be addressed 'some day'.
I can see this all new ECCPM chassis bringing TT back in the game 'mind'

I hear ya Leadlag, and your argument makes perfect sense to me. It doesn't change my mind as far as being willing to give the X50 a chance.

I'm not an eCCPM fanboy, I just recognize that I am not at a level in my ability to tell the difference enough to demand one system over the other, I probably never will be and I doubt I am alone in that. I flew a Vibe 50 and my modded R50 back to back last summer and I really couldn't tell the difference beyond things such as sound and I think his engine was a little healthier. As far as handling, the biggest thing for me was going with the SE head parts to increase pitch. My R50 V2 flies great, and I suspect the X50 will probably fly great as well.

I won't take anything away from the mCCPM loyalists, I get why you are loyal. I want to see some hands on experience before I decide either way.

I am excited about all the new stuff TT has come up with in the last couple of years. I would like to see the x50 innovations carried through to other models, especially a new e-600ish model as they seem to be seriously cutting back on the e550/620 (just try to find one). I will probably give the x50 a shot when available.

I commend TT for their products and responsiveness to the consumers, and the fact that they seem to wait until they have a very good product before releasing it. Then only minor updates over a long period of time (remember when the first raptor came out?), as opposed to new models every other week.

I don't compete, and probably don't have the skills to be a spokesman for TT, but I definitely enjoy the quality products they produce. Thanks TT, keep up the good work.

IMO F3C competition flying puts the most demand on the helicopter geometry etc.(More so than 3D)
Some may like you to to believe that but the 3-D flying thing uses more pitch range and the sticks are moved faster. The system limits are exploited more at higher throws and at times when the individual servo transit times can vary most-when they are asked to move the fastest or jacked the hardest. A big, fat, heavy, lower spooling rotor system is more stable and less aggressive and we all know where that is used.

Billebob, I do agree with you. The point I was trying to make was that I don't see the FAI boys(or 3D for that matter), who need a precise control system complaining about there eccpm etc, and I don't here them complaining to the manurfactures to change it? Otherwise there would be more top end heli's with it. I agree that 3D puts a lot more stress on things. I just think the whole argument either way was is a waste of time.. The all fly well if set up correctly. And if set up wrong all fly poorly.
I'll just sit here and wait for my X50 to arrive

All I know is that I like this one! Thrust bearings on the tail, C/F frames, a new head design and the new control layout has my attention. I thought the Titan SE was a good design and I don't see the X550 as a direct competitor, just another option. I like the Raptors over other brands because of the good handling, strength and crash-worthiness and fully expect this model to continue with these traits as well. Unfortunately I only fly the ERaptors (I do have a R90SE, but it's waiting on conversion to electric) and will have to convert the X50 over or wait until next year for the new E-Raptors. I sure hope they follow the X50's design! Good work TT, this is just the sort of design and marketing I was looking for.

AllThumbs,

To be honest many of the FAI guys switched sides as soon as they were forced to fly their sponsors eCCPM designs(be it radio or hradware), prior to that those specific people were pro-mCCPM. It's all BS, it's like a politician, they tell you what they think you need to hear. To answer your question with frankness -White man often speak with forked tongue !

mCCPM holds its accuracy during servo wear and so flys the same regarding interaction. However the other system must use longer servo arms which by its very nature introduces certain properties and it is not flexible for a linkage setup or uneven servo wear/specs.

The mCCPM can use both long and short servo arms and with different speed and power rated servos. A collective servo can be very different from the cyclic units and still use a different length servo arm. Cyclic servos can vary between one another to a reasonable degree. If you wanted to you could critically match different cyclic servos through servo arms length selection. For the modeler who has various expensive servos he doesn't want to discard this is an advantage.

eccpm has been rammed down our throats by manufactures unable or unwilling to build a decent mechanical control system. Both systems fly well but if one were to mess up a setup, we all know which one is most prone to that. Since many modelers have been permanently conditioned to the eCCPM system it only makes good business sense to exploit that mentality.

The guy I tend to trust most for intregity is the one who will support and promote both systems and all models for what they are. Then again that is my personal experience.

Start a new thread for eCCPM vs mCCPM
Lets keep this thread about the new X50 and not about eCCPM vs mCCPM. We can discuss that in a new thread.

Thanks
