Remember that MSH have changed the formula of the plastic since the introduction, and it is now supposed to absorb more force before breaking.

I love my Carbon Protos! It's a very smooth and fun little machine. Just flies and flies without any problems or maintenance.

CF/No-CF its an ounce...

It's funny, I don't think most people realize that the Logo 400 is nothing more than a chopped down Logo 10... We used to stretch the Logo 10 to run 550's...

Simply put, as a 500mm machine this thing was amazingly light, as a 550 machine it is stupid light (crazy low disk loading)...

Chop the tail and you have a higher disk load Logo 10... Predictable, exactly what one would expect from a little heavier heli with a great head...

As something that swings 425's it's nothing to write home about. I'd stretch it back to a 500/550 and have fun As far as the 425mm class, the Protos feels like the Logo 10 with 550's, light, fast and smooth.

Just my .02 as someone that was one of the original owners of the '10' and a Protos....

Thanks Pete. I don't have thoughts of buying and stretching a Logo 400 for 500/550 blades as I already have the Logo 500 flying 560's.

I also prefer a really light heli since I've learned what heavy (E550 Raptor) feels like (and don't care for it).

I guess my preferences in order of importance for this 425 size would be:

a) Flies like it's on rails (I fly more big sky than smackdown)

b) Very lightweight

c) Low parts count

d) Easy to service/repair

d) At least average durability

The slightly dated design of the Logo 400 frame (L10) was one of the reasons I wasn't too keen on it but now with the new CF version it looks better.

Diabolo 700UL / Logo 700 / 600 / 500 V-Bar NEO / Oxy 2 / Blade 180CFX / mCPX BL / Nano / V-Control

Dave --You have described the Protos to the T.

I have not flown a Logo and it is obvious they are nice helicopters, but what you are looking for is exactly what the Protos is. I did not fly mine for 3D and did lots of sky crusin and it was awesome! Can't wait to get my new one in the air. Just waiting for my ESC and new radio...

Logo 400 isn't going to be released soon.
The last I read was Mikado canceled the project.

I like that the Protos is lighter and faster. I have seen both fly. If you need help deciding go to my youtube channel, I have vids of both. The Protos is my vote between the 2.

Wait till you try a stretched Protos with 470s and vbar !
It weighs the same as a plastic frame 425s fb Protos. 1.685 kg. Rtf including a 6s 3000 pack.

Talk about low disk loading.

Life is meaningful flying helis.

The whole reason I'm stretching my Logo 400 to swing 520's is to make it feel like my Protos :-)

Great discussion. My best flying heli is a Logo 600 so I am very interested in the 400 but I would add one thing in that I like different machines, the tech fascinates me. So the design of the Protos is the initial attraction, if it flies well it would be fun to own.

The logo400 to me is just not right. I don't know how to describe it. Long story short, I sold it at the field at a 25% discount after only 5 flights.

I've a stretched Protos to run 470mm blades, it's one of the best, if not the best 500 class heli and I've owned most brands at one time or another.
