Only the boxes were serial numbered. We did not serial number any of the parts in the kit.

Serial # 0022 Arrived !
Received my kit Feb 1, 2010

Was out of town for the week but a welcome surprise when returning home.
Kit looks great, canopy is flawless and all the parts accounted for.
Looking forward to getting it built and flying.

Problems ? -- Mine are flown in fresh daily

Just Finished the Build
Just finished the build today, got serial number 10 from Heliproz. Its weird, i mustve gotten the last one they had. I ordered it last friday and i checked Saturday morning and it was out of stock. Will post some pictures. This model definately reflects the new MA as i can see from the product. Its a fat frame unlike the stratus or Fury extreme. Its a different clutch setup. The clutch setup is exactley to Aligns and how the mtor drops out with the clutch attatched tp the fan is also exactley like Align. Only difference is that real CNC is used instead of fake immatation alloy metal that Align uses. The direct servo to swash is nice, and the direct tail servo to tail i guess is a method adopted from the Bobby Watts Stratus, but its a cheap metal tail control rod instead of the carbon tube.....just like Align again. Except for the CNC parts and the direct servos eliminating bell cranks i would say this is a Miniature Air version of a Trex 600. Even the flybar cage on the head is exactley like Aligns. This Fury 55 is a halfbreed offspring of the Trex 600 and the Stratus, if helicopters can procreate this would be the two's child...

PS
i like the elimination of the bottom carbon fiber frame and using the CNC block to secure the two side frames as opposed to a bottom plate. Makes it much easier to change out the motor. I dont think anyone does that in their design

PS
Maybe in the furure we can get predrilled holes in the canopy for the mounts instead of guessing where theyre supposed to be and trying to drill them ourselves. I take it the Furyy 55 is too new for Canomod to know where they go.

Could you post pictures of the main frame with servo's so I can see the mounting of the servo's?

feed back about the build to the manufacturer
It was a beautiful quick and easy build and having far less parts was the reason. no bellcranks means less chance of problems in flight. Less parts = less things to go wrong, im axious to see how it flies. Theres only thing about the build that stands out in my mind and annoys me. The mixer arms with the legs that clip onto the swash you have to put them together yourself. You have to take this really skinny pin and push it through the mixer leg then attempt to clamp the end of the pin with supplied MICROSCOPIC "C" clamps. Unless you have a jewelers eyepiece its really hard to see the clamp when trying to clip it on and you dont get any spares, just exactly two! Of course i lost one of them tediously trying to clip it on! Luckily for me the mixer arm with the hinged leg is exactly the same one used on the Stratus/Fury extreme head and i had a spare head assembly from my Stratus. And in the Stratus/ Fury Ex kit the mixer arms with the hinged leg that is held together with a tiny pin with a MICROSCOPIC clip comes already clipped together. MA needs to change that in the Fury 55 kit definately!

Flew the Fury 55 for the first time today
the only thing not new on this bird is the motor and pipe. I had a blown YS 50st so i decided to rebuild it with a new piston, ring, and sleeve instead of getting a new 55 motor. Although i didnt go hard, it felt like flying a stratus only a smaller version. The collective was extremely responsive and tight. In another post about the Fury 55 here I commented that it resembled a Trex600. Not so in the air! I was also concerned about the belt drive but i forgot all about it when i was flying. This, in my opinion, is the best 50 size heli on the market. Forget about the Outrage Velocity 50, a Vibe, or anything else. This heli was well worth the wait and to all you guys that cant get one because its out of stock, wait its well worth it. And im sure parts wont be an issue MA was always good about replacement parts.

Were you happy with the performance of the YS50? Did it perform to your expectations? Do you foresee any negative issues? What pipe did you use?

Thanks.....Dave

Mine is 90% complete. Are you finding the outboard cyclic servos rubbing against the inside of the canopy? Also, the clutch shoe is a tight fit in the bell. Did you find that, too?

Hey Specialtydevice, they have been using the pin with the clips forever. It is really easy and takes honestly 15 seconds for each one.
First take the pin and hold it straight up and down with you fingers. Then put it right over the top of the clip and tap it with pliers. This just sets it on the pin. Now put the clip over a small opening like your pliers and tap it the rest of the way on. Repeat the process for the other side. I hope I explained it well enough. It works really well.

Mounting the small Clips
Theres only thing about the build that stands out in my mind and annoys me. The mixer arms with the legs that clip onto the swash you have to put them together yourself.
Here is a easy way to install the small Clips (ist taken from the Stratus manuel)
I think it's the same way as doublah described...

Clips
I bought a tool that the RC Car guys use to install and remove those clips. I can't remember where I bought it. It looks kinda like a straight screwdriver with a slot cui in it at the edge of the blade to a point. (Not a very Good Description) Works great tho.

Except guys with the old pins you had two clips to be installed now there is only one clip per pin as there is a retaining end on the new 55 pin.

initially i found the pitch shoes very tight and it got tighter and tighter. theres no adjustment on the clutch like there is on the Stratus. it got so tight that it was too hard to crank with the starter. After trouble shooting i found the fan rose up a little from the motor. they tell you to only snug tighten the locking nut and the two 3mm screws on the bottom are to hold the fan down....NOT SO! i had to tighten the top locking nut and the two 3mm screws on the bottom serve no purpose

YS 50 will always have more power than an os of the same size because of the crank case pressure. thats why os is copying ys and going with crank case pressure and even eliminating the pump too i hear
