I know it's a pain in the ass, but just to isolate th issue, can you try setting it up in a totally new model memory that you know is factory default? The results of that test will answer a lot. Glad you were able to recover without major damage.

Never mind... I'm an idiot...

I did all my setup in NORM, and it finally dawned on me that the X9303 retains different trim settings for each flight mode...

I had some down trim from my test flights with the fuselage (only in ST-1 and HOLD, as that's where I was flying it), and that was causing the problem. It was rolling left, because the down input was on the left side, and it never got to the point where precession took over.

I took it back out and it was fine... I do have a little oscillation in the pitch axis to dial out, but otherwise it's good to go!

I've been doing this long enough to know that it's usually the little/basic things that get you... but knowing doesn't seem to always prevent it...

Happened to me also; you know how I felt afterward. Could not understand why the leveled swash in norm wasn't level in IDE1, but IDE2 was okay. Won't happen again.

Just to update this thread, I did a bunch of tuning with the 360 yesterday on my AStar to eliminate a slight oscillation in the pitch axis (elevator), a condition much like drgnfly004 was experiencing.

A slight reduction in Elevator Hiller Gain, and a slight reduction in Elevator Damping Gain solved the issue. I do think the heli needs some more nose weight, but I'll give that a try next time out.
